Intermediate Level 3: Day 15
Duration: 00:34:08
Today you’ll revisit Flatline Scorpio and Butterfly and you’ll have some fun practicing two spin combos. Those who wish to work with spinning pole will have the opportunity to practice all tricks on spin today. However, if you do not feel completely confident on static in Flatline or Butterfly, continue with the static versions for the tricks today by switching the toggle back to static version. You may switch back to spinning once you reach the spin combos. Also spinners, your class will include the full tutorial for spinning pole in addition to the follow-along REPS.
Pro tip: When training at home you know it’s important to use a crash mat, practice chin tucks, and ask someone to spot you when needed, but the biggest factor in safe home practice is staying within your abilities. It’s very simple and I wish more in-person studios would stop “spotting” by lifting or holding people up and positioning them on the pole. If you can’t get into the trick on your own, you’re not ready for that trick! Spotting is about being there to catch or slow down a fall if needed, not to help them get into a trick.
Reminder, this is your journey—it’s not a competition. You can’t do anything that would make you a failure, and I am not disappointed or upset with you if you never invert, or if it takes months to finish a program, or if you decide to take time off. This is your life and your pole practice.
