Today you’ll be training your invert again and you’ll begin practicing two new tricks that utilize your knee pits for leg hangs and holds. If you can invert please skip the No Invert Gemini REPS. Start with the Gemini from the floor practice reps, skip the No Invert Gemini reps and instead use the next video which is Gemini from Invert. Trying to do all of the Gemini REP options will be too irritating for the knee pit area.

All tricks will be done on static pole for todays lesson.

Pro tip:  If you’d like to learn more about making your inverts flow into your gemini take some time to watch my Veena’s tips for Invert into Gemini for more information and tips.

Allow the videos to play in order and follow along. Feel free to pause anytime you need to.

Below is a list of direct links to each full length tutorial you worked on in today’s session. Remember you only need to click on these if you’d like more help or information.

  1. I recently moved and was unable to do a workout for two months (waiting on an extension). Decided to come back and redo the intermediate programs to get my strength back up. Had no problems doing both of these moves this second time around 😁

  2. Would you say having a deeper/more open middle split makes this move a bit easier to hold? My straddle isn’t as wide (looking at :57, for reference) and wondering if it’s holding me back. It’s a move I feel like I SHOULD be able to get into, but feels impossible to place my bottom leg against the pole, I end up leaning quite far forward (almost like I’m trying to do a pancake, which I can’t quite do yet) :/ Any tips would be appreciated!

        1. Yes, having a pancake split for the Star and middle split for the Advanced Star will allow you to hold the pose much easier. However, you can be as bendy as possible but if you don’t have the strength to push the lower leg into the pole it will be difficult as well. If you go to the pink links in the descriptions can click on Star, you’ll be taken directly to the video for the Star. This will then show you all the moves you need to know to improve on the star, including stretches. Here’s the link for star https://www.studioveena.com/tutorial/star-1035/

If you’d like to work on your middle splits this active middle splits routine is great https://www.studioveena.com/tutorial/active-middle-splits-routine-live-lesson-1574/

  3. Day 4
I tryed my best at star but gonna need more practice and Gemini from standing was hard , I’m frustrated with my self I had all intentions but noo , what’s frustrating is I use to do it all of it but I feel I should go back to beginner again 😞😞

    1. It might help you to know that we revisit all of these moves throughout the program. The intention is never that people will achieve them the very first try. I get that beginner level feels safe and comfortable, but we don’t grow unless we’ve push ourselves through the uncomfortable. That being said it depends on what your goal is for your pole journey. If it’s just for fun and exercise there’s nothing wrong with sticking to beginner pole work. But if there’s part of you who wants more, then discomfort (mental or physical) is part of the process.
I’ve been pole dancing for 18 yrs and if progression was my only intention, by now I should be doing fonjies and other flips, drops and death defying tricks. But I pole because I enjoy exploring movement and expression, so I dance how I want. 💜💜💜

      1. Thank you Veena 💕
I love pole so much that I want to progress and be a better me , if that makes sense
I will keep going through it all xxx bring it on 💪💪❤️❤️❤️❤️

  4. Morning Veena! Yesterday I took my first in-person pole dance class. Their studio had brass poles (I use chrome). I couldn’t tell but is there a difference? Btw I a great time and felt confident/knew every move thanks to your program.

    1. That’s so great you were able to enjoy yourself in class! Brass and chrome can be very different for some people, while others don’t notice much difference. Often if you tend to have dry skin and get cold really easily then pole finish matters. If you tend to have tacky skin, then most finishes will feel pretty similar.
