Performed with a smile, ouch this one hurts! This pose will take advantage of your front arm pit hold. If you have a solid Side pole hold and knowledge of your points of contact, this move is relatively easy to master. However, if you feel pain along the knee where the pole presses on the leg, use the second unhooked variation.
Strengthens: LATISSIMUS / PECTORALS / ABDOMINALS
Do you find it easier to enter this from a performance climb or from a side climb?
It’s been a long time since I’ve done this trick, I can’t remember! Since this trick keeps you close to the pole either should work, but the performance climb always provides a better anchor than the regular climb.
