Today you’ll learn two new tricks, and in the video I said to start with Butterfly; however, I meant to say Flatline Scorpio first. You’ll be working on Flatline before the Butterfly because one of the exits is using a Flatline Scorpio. Please don’t stress if you are not able to do either of these tricks right away, and if you can, celebrate!

Pro tip: Even though I provide the REPS demos for you, please don’t hesitate to practice the first step from the floor or any part you feel comfortable with. I never want you to rush into training the whole trick because trusting your body and knowing how to stay within your ability is very important for injury prevention. There will be no spinning pole option for this lesson as it’s important to practice on static pole first, then once you feel very secure on static you can try the spinning pole version.

When you’re new to training Butterfly, it’s important to drill yourself to tuck the chin to the chest anytime you’re feeling unstable while upside down.

Allow the videos to play in order and follow along. Feel free to pause anytime you need to.

  1. Hi! I can do the butterfly but not with forearm or elbow grip since to me it’s easier from gemini. I can do better the closed hip flatline scorpio from gemini too. I haven’t try them on the spinning pole as I do not feel so secure. Since these moves took me a lot of energy I will do the combos tomorrow 🙂

  2. Day 6 💕
Feeling stronger 💪 in fact alot stronger I actually did forearm butterfly 🦋 never done it before 😂😁
Butterfly yes it’s quite strong if my hands don’t sweat but forearm never done till today xxx
    Loved the whole lesson ♥️♥️
    I’ll try n get a picture xx

  3. Is it normal that I can only do one side of the flatline Scorpio? I am having a hard time doing the leg switch on one side of my body from gemini into the scorpio? Like my shin on that one side can’t get into position at all but on the other side I am able to easily maneuver it.

    1. Oh, it’s totally normal for it to be more difficult on one side than the other! Some people will go through the programs doing only one side and then come back and do the opposite side!

      1. Oh wow! Ok! I noticed how this ties in with the lower body yoga block work out too. The side I am having problems with is the same side that is really weak when I do the pigeon pose lifts! I like how everything ties together. Thank you Veena!
