I don’t have a specific name for it when using the pole for support, but it would not be a beginner move as Tropical mentioned. Here is a lesson that might help with the variation using the pole that you shared with us. Same concept but in your video the pole is used to help with stability. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/54a1a0f2-dec4-4fb9-9def-40760a9aa0eb

This lesson also has some cool shoulder roll/stand combos in it. Sneaky V floor work https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5640bccd-2da0-49d0-981c-5411ac110089

Don’t feel bad, others have had this happen too. You can totally work around grip issues by making sure you fully warm up! You’ll find several warm ups in the lessons and the basic warm will also warm the pole!! Both a warm body and warm pole will make for much better grip. Check your climbing technique too, if using boots you may not have learned how to make the most of your points of contact! This lesson can help https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/54c44c66-abbc-4646-ab78-7ef80a9aa0eb

January 21, 2016 at 12:26 am in reply to: Spinny Poles

If you watch closely you can see on a static pole the hand will travel down as you spin, on spinning pole they stay in place. You should be able to see what I’m talking about in this demo video. Static spins will not have nearly as many revolutions as spinning either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtinAzp17s0

This video shows a bunch of static spins, you can see how my hand travels down the pole. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9B-OQLIa-o

You’ll see it the lessons too, where I teach both static and spin in the same lesson.

January 20, 2016 at 3:40 pm in reply to: Hip flexor pain attempting apprentice/side V… help!

I doubt you’re doing anything wrong, muscle soreness or tenderness from over doing it, can last for a while if we’ve been doing something our body isn’t use to! It will help to do some conditioning for the lower body. The Hip flexor life will help and the lower body strength routine https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/52e9d171-5724-43b2-8784-47960a9aa0eb and the sexy legs and abs would also help too https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5444937f-b2f4-4995-bd1f-7c2d0a9aa0eb 😊 Try some foam roller as well to relieve and soreness!

I’m glad you’re all clear now and you didn’t have to do the LEEP! I’ve had many worried friends with news of HPV. I do know HPV is extremely common and often clears on it’s own, usually you don’t even know you have it. For those reading, one of the best things you can do for your sexual health is to avoid smoking, by not smoking and living well, you’ll decrease STD’s and STI’s affecting you in a really nasty ways. Smoking’s not just bad for your lungs, but sexual health as well.

Hello and ouch! I’ve been there before and it hurts! Give it time to heal and breath, so don’t cover it with anything that could stick to the area. I don’t know that putting oil on is optimal but aloe can be soothing.

Thanks for telling me! Not sure why it’s doing that, I’ll check with webmaster and re upload if needed. For now you can just go to the stretching section and use the side splits routine from there, this one seems to work fine. 😊 https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4e23973c-e724-4d0a-9b2e-79650ac37250

Sorry for the delay…I’ve been sick and feel so behind! Lol To know how big you want your hoop sit on the floor measure from the floor to your head add 2 inches. That’s ONE way to decide on size. For the grip size, know that the smaller the size the bigger the ouch factor when hanging from one leg or elbow! Off hand I don’t remember what size I have I know it’s not the largest and not the smallest lol

I was told by xpole that it’s not meant to be left outside. You’d have to ask them what it’s made of. I know the chromed parts would not like the moister.

January 12, 2016 at 3:19 am in reply to: Grip Lotions ?

Don’t buy something just because it’s market for pole! If you NEED help with grip either do to sweat or cold dry skin you’ll need different products. I don’t sweat much and use lubriderm as my lotion after bath or shower, I do NOT use any lotion right before poling or the pole will become greasy! https://www.lubriderm.com/products/advanced-therapy-lotion

If I need a grip aid because my pole is cold or I’m feeling cold and dry I use mighty grip with few point https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jgvvc2uvcFw

If you’re sweaty use a product that acts to keep you dry. I’m less familiar with these as I don’t sweat much.

But you don’t have to use anything if you feel secure in your grip! Some people are lucky and their pole finish matches well their skin. 💜

January 11, 2016 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Dove lesson?

Food can play a part in recovery which is needed for repair and then growth! You may be over doing the amount of training as well or maybe you need to vary your method. For example, if you’re only holding the stretches statically you’re missing out. Be sure to stay active in the shoulders, chest, back arms while stretching don’t just relax down into a stretch. There is a time and place for relaxing into a stretch but staying active is beneficial for sure and protects the joints! Also not everyone will see fast progress and we all have our physical strengths, back bending might not be yours, but it’s still helpful to work on it! Just be aware that not every move may be reasonable for you. The dove is very challenging for me! if you feel strain or pain in the low back doing dove stop. The mobility should come from the whole spine not just lower lumbar.

I don’t have the dove! I will have to put it on my list, it’s one I’ve just forgotten about!!

If you feel like your loosing flexibility make sure you’re not over training. Also a focus on shoulder and upper back mobility is super helpful. How long have you worked on lessons like the pole press stretch and on down the line of shoulder and back flexibility?
