It took a lot to get the old man to this point. A lot of discussions and compromises. He’s even coming with me to USPDF…he’s not going to watch the show though LOL. Poledance actually bores him. He says all the moves look the same.
Can you believe that???? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif
Will also thinks this too. He cant sit there and watch another woman dance, he doesnt see it the way we do.
I love hearing about supportive husbands! Will shamlessly plugs my YT page, inculding the guys he works with! No wonder I kept getting all the hits! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

…
I don’t like it because for me, I will ALWAYS see the person who did that song first (in my mind, lol).
thats how I feel. I feel like my video would be compared to hers and ill have a pretty high standard to keep up with.
I may save the song for my Apr video since thats my husbands bday month. The routine I have in my head looks great and I think it would be a great comparsion to her vid.

I was at the gym and there were a bunch of guys in front of the free weights I wanted to use. They asked me if I wanted the 10lb weights? Oh heck no, I want the 15lbs! I guess I showed them up! fun being the female in "the lions den" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Try buying 2 baby crib mattresses. They work great.
looks like ill be stealing my sons bed when I finally get a pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I was going to suggest the foam puzzle piece mats. I really want to get the chunks of foam they have at gymnastic studios so when I do fall its still fun!

ive experienced LOTS of nasty comments on YT. Honestly, I delete them. I dont waste my time focusing on the negativity folks can give online. I have mine set up for pending approval so I only approve the ones I ok. Ive had nasty ones – being compared to a blubber whale, talking about my fat, how I cant do tricks. I tell them a WTF ever and move on! But for every positive comment, it totally outweighs the nasty ones.

SUPER FREAKY! Those comments make want to yell STFU to some. Really, didnt your mom say that if you didnt have anything nice to say then dont say it at all!

I might be able to tell you who said that quote – MOI! We have had this discussion on my moms board about the same thing. Alot of the moms are in the same boat as me. I think for me if he complimented me more instead of when I complain about my body, I might be able to accept them better.
From reading your post, your right – all my close friends/SO’s and now husband were once strangers. I will work on accepting the compliments from my close ones, but its gonna be a hard battle.

We are one big pole family – were willing to help out a fellow poler in need.

Write stuff on the mirror. It doesn’t show that well in videos and you’re looking in the mirror anyway so while your checkin yourself out…check what other move you wanna do.
I got the idea from Jessalyn when we were working on our competition routines. Her and I had the mirror at her studio filled with moves in black marker. LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I like that idea!!! I was thinking of going the storyboard route and making a story board w/the lyrics. Im not the best artist but its an idea!

WOW, where do I even start?
Alethea – the one video w/her on the Xstage dancing to Rev 22:20 by Puscfier – OMG https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif Theres something about that video, between the moves, song, videography gets me!
Jamilla – HOLY COW! Just the promo for Art of Pole got me hooked in
These 2 im a bit partial on
Lauren from NYPD – I love how she has this crazy sexuality to her when she dances and has fun while doing it. When she taught at Xpose, I remember id talk to her about what I want to do and shed stand there booty poppin while talking. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gifJessalynn – Again she helped me get my style down. She can be graceful, sexual, playful, strong at any moment the song calls for it.

:raises hand super high: Ive got the same problem. Which I dont understand b/c when I took dance, I could do a routine w/o blanking out during it. I think it has to do w/others learning and someone who can remind you what move is next. So Im thinking of to teach someone my routines that way I can remember them. I cant write them down b/c I need the music (I normally put stuff together by the counts of 8 in the beat).
For me when im putting a routine together, I get a few main combos in my mind and where I want to put them. Then I fill in the rest, but then I feel like im stuck b/c all I do is walk around the pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

You can get it for free on iTunes. Just search Yoga Today and scroll down until you find the title!!
thats the first thing im doing when I get home from work today! Thanks for listing that podcast!

I am fully studio taught. Ive been going to the same studio for my entire pole life! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I love the women who teach and the clientel. I wouldnt mind trying stuff at home but Ive got no space to put a pole and take lessons. I also am very visual and I need to see it up close to learn the move. I also love being a room full of women who are cheering you on to be your best (and in return I always make sure they get some encouragement from me!).
To me its a to each its own situation. I like being around others and I dont do very well being alone and poling.
