REV 22:20 by Puscifer is one of the hottest songs, lol… I love that song so much and I have yet to make a video to it because I just feel like I can’t even live up to the song. I would require that video to be perfection… *sigh*. I don’t mind most of the rock songs to be overplayed, especially anything with Maynard singing. I would not be opposed to having Maynard’s musical genius babies, that’s for sure. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
OMG I totally agree! I have downloaded the other 2 versions as well. I love how the lyrics are the same but the music can create a totally different tone. Dry Martini – gives it a very sexy feel, Original (the one they used for Underworld) – has a hard feel, like shes literally going to eat you alive, and the Saw remix – has a very dark edgy feel.
Serzi – I agree on this with you, I really want to do Pet instead. I totally agree with you on Lullby
#3. COUNTING BODIES LIKE SHEEP (to the rhythm of the war drums) by A Perfect Circle –http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HrEWYeUzDA
This one has been used in more performances, competitions and otherwise, than just about any song I’ve ever heard. I think it is because it has a tempo that works well while dancing either fast or slow, it keeps each step in time, it’s powerful, sexy, and leaves plenty of room to improvise creatively. Personally, I prefer the original "Pet" to this remix but that’s mainly because it was the first version I heard and I like the heavier guitar riffs. Also, I own the album Thirteenth Step and when I play "Pet" there is a song it leads into called "Lullaby" that is great for cooling down.
I have to thank my husband for introducing me to APC, Tool, Puscfier and Slipknot. My brother had the Mer de Noms album so I knew about Judith and 3 Libras. 3 Libras is what I plan to use for Ms Xpose for one of my routines. Im more of an APC fan than Tool.
One that may become overplayed is Snuff by Slipknot. I did a video to it almost a year ago and Karol performed it at USPDF ECR. Her performance was downright AMAZING!!!! I was blown away from her style. I think Slipknot has some great songs and some that my husband calls difficult to pole to (damnit I am determined to dance to The Heretic Anthem!).
I do try to find some out of the box ones – Johnny Cash anyone???

MemberNovember 4, 2010 at 2:15 pm in reply to: Racheal Ray talks about poling accidentSerzi brings up alot of good points. I have not met a stripper who danced barefoot (en pointe – yes!), yet we all know they were the big heels. He went to an adult club and hes an adult (or his age makes him an adult), that doesnt mean he needs to get all childish. I agree with Veena, im so tired of the world being so sue happy. I heard some where there are 3 ways people think they are going to get rich – 1. inheritance 2. winning the lottery and 3. SUEING SOMEONE https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

I dont know if Crayola still makes them or not, but they used to make markers that you would write on windows. They would be perfect for mirrors. I had some and my mom decorated our living room window for my birthday one year. They got there fair share of abuse in our home.

Like Chemmie said, start with a chunkier heel. Cone heel, quarter heel. Where I go, we must wear those types of shoes in the studio for saftey reasons. Then work your way up to what you want.
I currently wear a pair of Ellie’s with a thinner heel and fish in them (I wanted something cheeky and fun). IMO, if they have the plastic ankle strap and foot base (like a ‘My First Stripper Shoe’), I would get a size down since the plastic does swell after repeat wears. If they are a pvc, fabric or anything but the plastic, I would order in your normal street shoe size.
Im currenty eyeing down a pair of Pleasers from the Bond Girl collection. They are 7.5 inchers and I would love to wear them for a particular song I want to do.

I will be checking out this site.
Trust me I have my days just like anyone else. Some days I feel like im the skinny chick but then I see my photos and all I can see is my dreaded repeat C-section pouch. I swear I dont remember my body before kids.
I know I wont have flat abs but being close will work with me.

Talk to Joel at Mighty Grip. He may be able to offer a suggestion or replace them.

An X Stage is 200lbs. But it comes in 3 bags, the heaviest bag is the base at 87lbs, then the pie pieces for the stage (2 bags per stage – each one has 3 pieces), then the bag for the pole. Once youve got it up, its sturdy as anything. I borrowed 4 of them from Jessalynn for my Battle, and I had to put them back into my moms garage ALONE! Yep, I hauled 800lbs of pole! Learned my lesson!
I personally reccomend having a 2nd person with you when lugging it. The base bag does have wheels. But then again it could be your warm up getting the stage out and picked up. If I had the room, I would totally buy one.

Ive held one, does that count! They were selling them at USPDF ECR. They are nice and I would love to have one. I think you can buy it from the USPDF site and the NYPD site. Those pictures are breathtaking!

I pretty much asked for g/c to House of Pole and Bad Kitty’s Pole Fit line. I also asked for shoes and a pole. I think everything on my list is pole related. But me being the mom that I am, I asked for $ first to get ahead on the bills, but if they want to buy something – heres the list.
Im having a pole themed Xmas!

Great example – im working on my Miss Xpose stuff. One of my songs is ‘The Sound of Madness’ by Shinedown. It has some counts of 8 (yep former dancer its just how im trained), then the music speeds up after they lyric is ‘watch your back’. I figured I start with the foot stomp in beat w/the music, then some hip divets, walk and pirouettes and get the momentuem to do a BIG reverse grab to go with the beat.
One song ive been tinkering with is Gently by Slipknot, it starts very slow. I thought about slow and controlled movements. About halfway through the song, it goes into the traditional Slipknot style and goes fast, thats when I really bust out the tricks.
Sometimes I have a song I like to pole to but the choreography doesnt come to me for quite some time. Ive been wanting to dance to 3 Libras by A Perfect Circle for years and now the choreography hit me one day.
