so sad I missed this! Did anyone videotape it? I’ve been patiently waiting for something to pop up here or on YT but haven’t found anything yet.

My hands sweat even when I am not pole dancing tho. I think it depends on the person. I sweat more than others. I have to use Dry Hands or Tite Grip, to help me stay on the pole for longer than a minute without slipping off.

I’m guessing someone flagged your photos and Fb just removed them automatically. I have heard of this happening to others. I have my pole photos under private albums that only my pole friends can see. I have lots of different people as Fb friends and everyone has an opinion so I figure better keep it safe and only allow those that respect pole dancing have access. Sorry that had to happen to you! That sucks!

Ohhhhh!!! I wish I would have known about this sooner! I have to work next weekend, but Ohio is not that far from me. I remember Josiah had mentioned a performance he was planning to do out this way, but I never realized it was going to be so soon! It sounds like it is going to be so much fun! I would have loved the chance to meet Stellarmotion in person and see JC again. Oh my gosh, you all have so much fun and please, someone get videos of the performances and post lots of pictures! This is going to be a ground breaking event, I am sure!!

I have hardwood floors and have never had a problem with my pole leaving any impressions. I have heard that some woods are softer than others, and I am not sure what kind I have. I do have to deal with lots of scuff marks from my heels, but those wipe off easily with soap and water. If you’re concerned about it then you could get a non-skid rubber mat to put under the base of your pole. That would probably prevent it from doing any damage. Just be caredul its non-skid and won’t move when you’re doing spins and such. Good luck!!

What a novel idea! Here are some things I usually take with me to pole jams: my shoes which include my 6 in. heels and my 6 in. knee high boots, legwarmers, pole shorts and tank, grip aides, a microfiber towel, my camera, ipod, cell phone, wallet and water.
I have a suggestion for you that may help with the issues of shoe size. What if the bag were to have a removeable/adjustable partition? That way it may not matter how many or how big the shoes are. -
Interesting difference in perspectives.
I’ve been using the Xstage since last May and I have no problems with it. Yes, it’s heavy…that’s why it’s safe and more stable than the Star. I used the Star this past weekend the sway on the pole is much more than I would ever consider allowing a student to learn on. Most would be very intimidate by that sort of instablity as well. I’ve carried that stage up a flight of stairs (in it’s case) myself. Would I WANT to do that often? Heck no..but there is a price to pay for a heavier duty pole.
Best of all, the Xstage "lite" with a low platform ( I think only about 3 inches high off the floor) will be available this fall if you can wait for that.
I couldn’t agree with you more Empyrean! I have also tried both, and I found that the Star pole was very unstable compared to the Xstage. It was super creaky and swayed quite a bit. The spin mode was not nearly as smooth and fast as on the Xpole. Overall, I felt very limited as to what I could do on it. The poles connected together by the "old school" way of screwing together clockwise and there was no way to secure them, so I couldn’t spin anti-clockwise(left handed) without unscrewing the poles https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif (which is very scary as I am left-handed) I have contacted a PS rep about the left handed spin problem and they said that they are working on that, and the problem should be remedied soon. In respect to the carrying cases, Star poles do not currently even have a carrying case available. They offered my friend a $25 rebate to buy her own carrying cases, which is a joke considering how big the pieces are. The pieces filled up the whole trunk of her car. However, it was super easy to set up, and for the price, it is a good value. If you are on a budget and don’t plan on doing big moves requiring a decent amount of momentum (or left handed spins), it is a decent pole. The Star pole does offer more options than Xstage. I believe the Star pole is offered in brass and stainless 45/50mm where the Xstage is only offered in 50mm chrome.
I am super excited about the low platform Xstage! I saw it at the Pole-con and was wondering about it. Never got a chance to talk to the Xpole reps tho. Do you know how much it is going to be and whether they will offer different metal/size options?

MemberMay 18, 2010 at 5:39 pm in reply to: Felix Cane added a 2nd Workshop – DC Pole ConventionI so want to, but TBH, I really don’t think I would get a lot out of it. I think a lot of her best moves require a certain level of flexibility. I heard that she kind of runs the class based on what the students want, so I am sure everyone is going to want to learn her signature (aka. hyper flexibility required) moves. I am not nearly as flexible as I want to be, I can barely do the front splits on a good day.I don’t have a lot of $$ to spend so i think I’m just going to do the pole jam with the stars, so that I can pick up some tid bits from all the pole stars.

wow that is crazy! I am from Detroit, and I remember this event being advertised on the radio! In fact, our very own members, Charley and Bertysbooboo attended the "Stripper 101" class. I didn’t end up going, because i think I would have had to get up to early for my likes, lol. That is Shadow in the picture.. she works at that club and was teaching the girls pole tricks. That would be really sad if they took away her crown because of this. It really wasn’t a big deal or anything. How silly.

Also double check that your pole is not off center. Mine did that and I found if i took it down and then put it back up it worked fine. I personally take the hex screws all the way out when I put mine in spinning mode.
