Today you’ll start with strength work and then practice your Caterpillar again and finish with some training for increasing your range of motion for your back. Spinning pole students will have the opportunity to try spinning forwards and backwards in Caterpillar. Remember spinning pole is more advanced in this case so only work on spin once you feel 100% secure on static.

Pro tip: As you move on to more advanced pole work in the future, remember that for the Caterpillar climb, Butterfly, and Ayesha, the upper body acts as an anchor allowing you to move the legs into whatever pose you desire. Keep in mind when doing a Caterpillar climb, it’s really important that you maintain contact on the pole with the legs—you never need to pull the legs away or off the pole completely. Always move slowly and have an exit plan like chin/head tucks and a crash mat.
