Iguana and Iguana Mount / Pencil
In this tutorial, I’ll share so many fun ways to use this pose and the mount. You’ll learn several leg variations for entries and exits too! I strongly suggest working on the descending (lowering down) before trying to lift into the Iguana mount.
At the end of the video, I’ll show you how to enter the mount from spinning pole! You may also want to look at the Bow and Arrow tutorial as some might find that more comfortable to learn first.
When you’re new to training Iguana it’s important to drill yourself to tuck the chin to the chest anytime you’re upside down. Chin to chest is considered the safest way to protect your head in a fall. Relaxing the body is also important.

My hips are not very open naturally, and I don’t expect to exceed a 100 or 110 degree middle split, even with loads of stretching. Is it still possible to do an iguana mount with that type of middle split?
You don’t need a full middle split to do this trick. Hamstring flexibility is more important than middle split. This video might help you understand how angles make some tricks look like they need more flexibility than they really do! https://www.studioveena.com/tutorial/flexibility-hacks-free-1275/
