30 Day Flow: Day 1
Duration: 01:04:03
Welcome to your first day of my No Pole Flow Class. This is an hour-long class and the drills in this class can be done daily if you wish. We’ll be working on 5 key elements of finding your own flow. The first half of this class is perfect for those who do not naturally have rhythm or flow. However, you will also learn skills to get up from the floor and down to the floor, without using a pole. You’ll also work on facial expressions and breath.
Items you’ll need:
- A mirror or your phone camera in selfie mode so you can watch your movements.
- Yoga strap (Optional)
- Small fit ball (Optional)
The class is divided into 4 different sections:
Section one – Finding the rhythm. Start at minute 14:50 if you don’t need help with rhythm.
Section two (Min 14:50) – I’ll provide tips and discuss these 5 aspects of dance.
- Breath
- Circles
- Waves
- Lines
- Facial expression
Section three (Min 25:30) – Ideas for getting up and down without a pole.
Section four (Min 35:09) – Together we’ll run through drills practicing all five elements of flow:
RHYTHM, BREATH, CIRCLES, LINES, and WAVES
Bonus drill (Min 54:28) – This drill takes you through creating circles with all parts of your body.
Pro tip: Do your best to remember these 6 points during the class:
- Give yourself permission to take up space
- Get comfortable feeling uncomfortable
- Breathe
- Think Circles
- Think Continuous movement
- Imagine every movement creating a beautiful picture.
I could not keep up with the routine!!! Lol. It looks so beautiful and I just murdered it! I think I need to regroup & start day 1 tomorrow!
No, the whole point is to start even if it’s super rough! You’ll love to look back and see the change! PS I’m awful when it comes to learning chorogrohchoriography 😬
Thanks Veena. I had such an off day yesterday, I’ve just been feeling a little down. I really feel I didn’t do it justice. I am going to try again because I really love the lesson, but I decided to not use mirrors, maybe I’m focusing too much on looks an not feeling it
Let me know if feel it went better!
Feeling*
Veena, could I ask the name of the song you used for this routine?
For the sexy pole routine
It’s called Take your pants off by JAM studios.
Thank you!!
I don’t have any flexibility, I can’t do some movements. What do you recommended to me?
Just work within your range of motion and you’ll start to see improvement. If you want to focus on flexibility try using the 30 days to flex you program.
Excited to get started with this. I just have one question at the moment: How in the hell do I get one of those T shirts??
I don’t have a shop any more. 😓
Looking forward to starting this program as it will be a step out of my comfort zone – is there an ‘intermediate sexy routine’ floating about by any chance? 😊
I have to give this routine a try… but I am the worse at remembering choreography!! 😆
We do it over and over. 😊
And I still mess it up!! 🙄😂
Haha, that was fun, but horribly non-sexy! :p Hoping this program will improve that 😉
the beginner routine was so much fun, thanks Veena!
‘Twas a fair attempt at the time, but I laughed at myself when I watched what I recorded. Looking forward to this program for improvements!
ðŸ˜
That was fun and I did record it. Looking forward to doing this program.
Yay!
It was hard and I looked funny. I recorded it :). hopefully by the end of 30 days it will improve … I will take any improvement I can have hahaha. I’m grateful for your website Veena!
I started this program today! I’m going to use it as my guideline, as I also plan to work on strength or tricks every day that is active work day if I feel up to 😉 May also do a 1 song freestyle at the end to practice everything.
My spine really liked starting with the Flowmotion routine. 🙂 Doing this program before the spinning one because I think I’ll be better off in the long run. Plus I’ve discovered I just really like static free styling. 🙂
Yay! I love static pole.
Day 1 of flow complete
Oh my what a laugh that was doing the sexy beginner routine, I did video it about 7 times before I actually remembered all the moves, and I wrote them down 😄😄 love it xx ❤️
Awesome!
