Butterfly – Split, Twisted, Elbow and Forearm
This is one super-duper Butterfly tutorial. You’ll learn 4 grips and 2 entries, one using a Caterpillar and the other a Gemini. You’ll learn methods for both static and spinning pole, and I’ll even show you a one-hand version of the butterfly! Keep in mind there is no right or wrong grip; they’re just different options to choose from.
When you’re new to training Butterfly from up on the pole it’s important to drill yourself to tuck the chin to the chest anytime you’re upside down. Chin to chest is considered the safest way to protect your head in a fall. Relaxing the body is also important.

Before working on this lesson, you should have a solid Caterpillar or Gemini/Outside leg hang. If you don’t feel secure in your Caterpillar, I suggest going through the 30-day Caterpillar program before learning the Butterfly.

The forearm grip scares me to death! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong to even begin getting into position. Hmmm, I just watched lesson again and think I know what I’m doing wrong, I THINK. 🙂 Will try again.
