It will get better!!!! As you learn to engage your muscles for moves instead of rely on skin you’ll find it helps …all comes in time. Soon muscle memory takes over and ta da, no more ouch. However, learning new things even if you’ve been poling yrs will have an ouch factor. Also I have a rule of no more than ten tries for a new move. This helps prevent excessive bruises. 💜

Working on beginner moves like Pole Holds and Side Pole Holds while sliding to the floor can help you learn grip control 💪

If you look at the lessons here I teach step and sweep…deadlifting is very hard on the body when first learning. Sounds like you the Invert Program here would be a nice help for improving your inverts!

What you can and can’t do during pregnancy will depend on the person. If you’ve been training for years and have high level ability, you’ll be able to modify things in a way that would be fine. Most things can be modified for any healthy pregnancy, but it’s best to work with a qualified professional if you choose to continue. However, learning or being a beginner in pole, lyra or silks isn’t recommended.
I talk a bit about pregnancy and pole in my Veena method guide if you’re interested. It’s totally free to download. https://www.studioveena.com/methods/letter

You don’t need pics on fb, it’s just one way I verify if they question isn’t answered. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

If I haven’t added you it’s because the question hasn’t been answered and I can’t see pole pics on your profile. I just wanna make sure real pole people are there ðŸ˜

Hi! That’s exciting, I love my brass. You’ve come to the right place for beginners. Just click on the first lesson and you’re on your way with my 30 day take off program https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view_category/30-day-take-off This program includes training for strength, technique and flexibility.
Or you can start with the Beginner section, everything is placed in order so you don’t need to guess as to what you should do next. This is really helpful for someone who has no experience. There are a lot of sections to work with here but know that as long as you start at the beginning you’ll be on the right track.

Yeah, I’ve put lotion on and rinsed it right off and it works in a pinch!
Has anyone tried the lotion you put on when your skin is wet before pole? I wonder if they make any that are fast absorbing and non greasy?
-
You don’t put lotion on before class, but you can use an non greasy lotion hours before and it will be fine. I thought you meant you never use lotion anymore. I’m sure the studio means not to apply lotion right before class or use stuff that leaves behind a mess on the poles, makes them greasy.

Sound like a good idea to rest a bit.
You can use lotion, no need to avoid it all together! In fact if I don’t moisturize I would never be able to grip. I don’t sweat much (unless humidity is high) and I tend to have normal to dry skin. The key is using something that isn’t oily, lubriderm and aveeno works well for me and I use the Target store brands, they’re cheaper and work great!
I also suggest this grip aid combo if you have issues with dry skin and cold poles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgvvc2uvcFw
