Here is something that can be helpful when trying the crucifix….Work on it from the ground, by that I mean an elbow or handstand. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Elbowstand would be the safest. So you would get on to the pole NOT from an invert but by facing away from your pole, and placing hands on the floor in front of you. Then place one leg behind you on the pole as far up as your flexibility will allow. Press that leg against the pole for leverage and bring the other one up to the other side of the pole. Griping the pole with your legs, walk your hands back (or scoot your elbows back) towards the pole, you can then slide your legs up higher on to the pole and you can focus of finding the proper places for you legs to grip the pole without having to leave the ground. You can rest the front of your torso against the pole while you get the feel of the position with your legs. If you feel your gripping well with your legs move one arm at a time off the floor. Don’t forget to use some mats or a spotter. There you are….in the crucifix.
Here is where you’ll want contact with the pole:
above the knees/the pole will run along the upper thigh too but you want to squeeze above the knees.along the back of the calf
the back of the anklealong the front of the shin
the front/top of the footsqueeze….. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

YES joist are necessary!!!!!!!!! You could wreck your ceiling, You need a joist for any pole, even those you don’t remove! One girl used a magnet to find the stud/joist. I have tapped with the little rod tools you get with the pole, when I had popcorn ceilings. There is more info on setting up your pole and finding joist under THINKS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU INSTALL UP YOUR POLE.

i’m using a lilmynx but moving to a higher place with a higher ceiling… thinking about getting an xpole but don’t like that its top mount.. the kendra pole is essentially an static only 45mm xpole with a bottom mount..
http://www.xpoleus.com/shop_poles.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
has anyone even seen or tried one?I have been informed that yes it is an X pole….BUT its only I tiny bit cheaper than what we sell the pole for and you don’t get the spin option so……I would go with the X pole not the Kendra, I think having spin mode is worth it. We have the best prices around!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Stud finders wont work on plaster. I find them unreliable so I use the knock method. Just knock along the ceiling and when to tone changes from hollow to solid…there ya go https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif You found yourself a stud, now if only it were take simple to find a man stud. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Well…for me it was keeping my booty up so… you want to keep that Caterpillar position and release from there, in that chair position, like an up sidedown L, so there is an bit of an arch in your low back….but only for the straight edge split not the straight edge. I wish I could do this move I would post it for you….Its a no no for me right now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif
Here this vid has a good view at. 2:50 I go right into a straight edge, not the split….but its a great example of how squashed up your body should be in the caterpillar before your release your legs from the pole.
