Do you mean your using my video lesson? https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4fc4dc2f-1bd8-4026-9725-02690ac37250…The bottom hand is just holding to keep you in place, there is no weight on it, it just keeps you moving into the pole. Like dustbunny said.

Hi Handerson! I'm happy your enjoying the lessons! For the best results try watching all of the "getting started" lessons for each section. This will help you decide how to plan your workouts. Also working on the strength and conditioning lessons are very important.
Here is the first lesson you should watch, and remember lessons are placed in a progressive order. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

@ Casey Kill, there is a lot of info on stretching and flexibility in the lessons here. I have individual lessons that break down each stretch and there are also 3 twenty min Flexibility routines. 2 for splits and one for back mobility. The "Getting started stretching" has all the info on how often to stretch as well as other info too.
You may find answers by simply reading the lesson description too, so check it out. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I would stay stretch to maintain while pregnant, do not work on gaining flexy. I worked to maintain, because your body produces relaxin, and this hormone makes everything "relax" preparing the body for birth. Some women can't even lift weight or walk because it affects them so much. I was not one of those who it bothered, but I still didn't do any flexibility training. You could easily go too far and injure yourself if your not careful. So its something to be aware of while training for flexibility.
Always talk with your DR, but chances are they wont understand how intense you'll be stretching. LIsten to your body always!!

Yep all of this is covered in the lessons.
Here is a demo video that will give you some idea of where your balace points are in the different "stands" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmIciddJyPY&list=UUup79MtZnWP_SCAHeVlmzdQ&index=12&feature=plcp

Athene30, I do not have a dance or gymnastics background.
Thanks guys, I still do not see myself as "famous", that's not what I'm working towards anyway. My goal is that everyone, both women and men regardless of age or size, are provided with the tools to allow them to enjoy pole dance!
You guys should look back on some of Charley's old video's, she has become such a fluid, expressive and controlled dancer!
Age is a number….. check out this woman who started hula hooping at age 55 and she has osteoporosis!!! Check out her video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ic1EiT8N5eo&feature=relmfu

Hi, eva X, I didn't start pole dancing until a few weeks before I turned 30. I have 4 kids. Although I have not had the desire or time to compete, and I'm not famous, I'm proud of what I've accomplished.
You can do anything you put your mind to! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

A few easy tips:
Work on Elbowstands and Handstand against a wall.
Stay calm…the more comfortable you are in the pose, the less effort it takes.
Always BREATH.
Find a focal point.
Once you are able to do a basic invert, work on holding the pose while staying calm.

abcollin1, has some good suggestions! Sometimes our body is telling us we need to rest. Also take a look at diet and make sure your getting enough of everything as she suggested. Low iron can also make you feel sluggish. After a work out, make sure you are eating something, you need to replenish carbs and protein. If you feel your diet is good then seeing a dr would be a good idea. Your not pregnant are you??
