    When I talk about pole dance in the midwest, almost everyone replies with “I hear it’s a great workout”. Here in Vegas most people assume you are a stripper, some think you’re in a cirque show or something like that. I usually just let them assume what they will… what my “deal” is…. they can sit at the park and watch how good my kids are and wonder how a “stripper” can have such nice “normal’ kids!! If it’s someone I think would like to learn more about SV I tell them what I do for a living, as in this website and I teach.

    Yes, we ease into thing so the body doesn’t get too sore when starting, then kick it up a notch. 🙂

    On day 12 you are not doing the normal “warm up” lesson, you are doing different leg work as your warm up. We always warm up some how, and we always do the videos that are listed below the main player and usually they are performed in the order they are posted. You shouldn’t have the leave the main player to warm up, just click on the little lessons below in the order they’re shown. Does that make sense? 🙂

    Injury can be caused by many things, not warming up, overuse as you mentioned, it can also be poor technique, or just making a mistake. Sometimes we don’t even know what the heck we did!! The best prevention is listing to your body (as you did) not over working muscle groups, warming up and using proper form. 🙂

    2 hours wow, hehe, I’m guessing you’ll be fine. It’s fine to rejuvenate instead if you’re sore, I would suggest walking or doing something that is easy on the muscles, but avoid sitting around too much, it can make muscles very stiff! If it’s only your upper body that is sore, you can also try doing the Lower body conditioning routine instead of the full body strength.

    You need a good amount of hand strength to do static spins, this is why I have you start off with Forward 2 hand static spins. Single hand spins on static are far more advanced. 🙂

    No, that’s not really what I meant, I word it backwards…I meant it’s usually difficult to move on to STATIC after SPINNY. I just wrote it backwards on my phone. 🙂

    I didn’t mean to say it was technically difficult to learn spin after static. I meant to say the only real issue for most with switching to spinning pole is the dizziness, this is an issue for some regardless of if they learn spin mode before or after static.

    I know a lot of those who started off on spinny and have the worst time learning spins on static.

    Thank you Squeak, I was wondering if it was ok to leave a hoop “naked”! Seemed like it should be fine, but I didn’t know why some taped the hoops, what you’ve explained makes sense!

    I always suggest a new pole dancer start off learning spins on a static pole, you find many who only use spin have issues with the timing and push, swing needed for static spins. It’s usually difficult to move on to spin after static. I think most peoples issue with moving on to spinning pole is feeling sick or dizzy and this things get better over time 🙂

    The program is just a guideline, so no, you don’t have complete it, and even taking a day off is fine. In the beginning every other day is a rest day anyway, you’ll have a task of some sort, but it’s usually watching a video to prepare for the next day. There’s a lot of great info in the tips and descriptions for each day as well. I’ve kept the main videos around 5 mins or less and even the over all tasks each day shouldn’t take more then 45 mins most of the time. Again it’s just a guideline so you can feel free to stop and start when you want. You may want to re-start the program if you have 2 or more weeks away from physical activity. 🙂
