1 Yes you can place a lessons in your Favorites.
2 You don’t have to, but you SHOULD perform the lessons in order. My method of teaching is often different than other studios. Also each lesson builds on the next so they are all placed in a particular order to allow for safe and fast strength building and progression. At the very least, watch EACH Getting Started Lesson placed at the beginning of a new section. These all have great tips and suggestions for using the lessons.
The 30 day take off program is also included in the lessons and it will give you 30 days of lesson plans! 🙂
You can also ask me questions about a lesson from that lesson at any time and I get back to you ASAP.
Under each of the main lessons you’ll find a list of related lessons to work on. These will help you achieve whatever we are working on in the main lesson. Sometimes you’ll find stretches to do, other pole work, strength work or all of the above.
Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂

Even if you can only lift the leg a little it’s totally fine! Again if your shoulders are tight use a strap behind the pole. 🙂
-
How are you twisting the grip, as in for a shoulder mount? The Veena grip is not used for the Pole Leg Lifts. The grip you use is a Cup Grip, this grip is the best for that exercise allowing you to pull equally with both hands against the pole. It’s a cup grip with the arms up much higher over head. If it’s a lack of flexibility that makes the move uncomfortable then try placing a yoga strap or belt around the pole hold. For the exercise to be effective you need to be able to pull with the hands against the pole as you lift the legs. 🙂

I always suggest buying a pole for your body’s skin, not for hands. If you have sweaty hands every pole will be an issue to some degree. I use to love my tg until I moved to Vegas and find I sweat a lot in summer. Now PC and brass works when I sweat. I don’t know where the SV PC falls under. All I know is they’ve done a special 2 coat process making it grippy but “softer” feeling.

I have both finishes, what are you Looking to compare?

Use Dry hands if you have sweaty hands. Way back in the day everyone just said no lotion ever, but really some need to use lotion if they have dry skin. Moist, warm (not sweaty) skin sticks better to poles. So using a non greasy lotion a few HOURS before poling can work great. Don’t use bath and body and don’t put lotion on right before tho. 🙂

The SV pole is made by Lil mynx, they were making poles before the other companies, so they’ve been around for a long time!
I find Powder coated is the most consistent finish. Metal poles are very temperamental when it comes to weather, sweat, etc. so they can really so down pole time when you have to warm them up or find the right grip aids that work.
I LOVE grip of our SV powder coated and color of course, they used a special two part process for the SV pole which makes the grip sticky, yet softer/less harsh then other PC poles. It’s the easiest and fastest pole to set up and take down and it’s the easiest of the poles to switch from static to spin and back. It’s easy to clean and it’s adjustable to a certain point. The only down side, is height, it only goes up to 10 ft.
I also have all of the sizes and finishes of x-poles. They are quality poles for sure and both companies have great customer service! I like their Titanium gold and Brass pole. If you need a pole that is over 10 ft then the x pole is a great choice! You will more than likely need to invest in grip aid because metal poles can be temperamental in different weather conditions, that’s why I love PC. You’ll get a set of tools to set the pole up and to switch the pole to spin. If you sweat the Titanium gold can get slick, brass is better for sweat as is the SV pole. The x pole comes with a carrying case and you can buy more extensions if you need them!
Both brands have a vaulted ceiling mount you can purchase.
I use both brands for different reasons, however with the SV pole I know my grip will always be great so I tend to go for that pole first. If I want to climb up over 10 ft I use my x poles 🙂 If I could mix the two brands together I think I would have the ultimate pole!!!! LOL
If you haven’t see it this is the video showing how user friendly the SV pole is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8YW4HEd3gQ

Oh and static is my preferred style and I have no issues with it being to grippy. 😊
-
I have every finish including the new brass x-pole, the most consistent grip is still my SV pole. However, I don’t have sweaty hands, but have had girls use my pole that have sweaty hands and they said it was better than their chrome poles. Maybe someone with sweaty hands can offer some input! I can say that my TG pole gets soooo slick when I sweat in the summer, it’s not usable, but I can use my SV or brass.

Oops just saw you stick too much…then adding mighty grip might make it too grippy!
-
If Dew point alone doesn’t help add Mighty grip over the ! The two worked great on my cold brass yesterday.

I had Kikki demonstrate how she gets into the Remi when she was visiting my place this summer. I found that as long as the top leg had the pole snuggly tucked into the knee pocket (similar to CKR) and the wrapped/lower leg had the pole closer to the shin not the top of the foot, it really wasn’t painful. So for me the key was having the top leg take on most of the pressure. Side note, if you have knee issues skip this move. 🙂
Grip the pole similar to CKR with the top leg

The Dew point WITH the Mighty grip works, neither work for me on their own. Some pple love SS so maybe you could sell it and by the SV pole if you love how the lil myxn works?

AdministratorDecember 6, 2013 at 2:22 pm in reply to: Help me diagnose my slippery pole please!!As someone who lived in the cold midwest I feel your frustration!!!! I haven’t had grip issues with my SV pole yet, but I still use my x-poles too and the steam is the only way to get junk off the poles. I’ve found most pole cleaners make the poles slick :/. Also I don’t clean the pole with Alcohol or vinegar after steaming because sometimes it seem to make it slick, I just use steam.
Warm up really well….Once the pole is cleaned then your challenge will be to warm the pole (you could steam for that) and warm your body enough to grip. Cold skin doesn’t grip poles well. The Basic warm up in the lessons here was created to warm your pole and body, so you could try that.
Try grip aids…..I’m not a huge fan of grip aids unless you’re performing, but If you just can’t warm your legs or the pole enough. Try spraying Dew point on your legs, then add some Mighty grip on top. Then, I spray my hands with the Dew point, then grip the pole all over so it’s transferred to the pole, then add the Mighty grip to my hands and transfer that to the pole too. I had to do this today on my brass, it worked really well!!
Moisturize….Also try moisturizing with Lubriderm lotion a few hours before poling. Oh! Also for me, using regular cheap washcloths (washed and dried without fabric softener) work better for cleaning than microfiber cloth! Using microfiber seems to increase the greasy factor….I have no idea why that would be though. I’m sure others will have ideas too! Good luck!!!

Oh I should add that the tight hamstrings would keep the knee bent when bringing the leg in front of the body or to the side, tight quads or hip flexors could cause the knee to bend when reaching the leg behind you. Also if you have existing knee issues/injuries forcing the knees isn’t a good idea.

I saw your video. 🙂
Lina has great advice!! Many times it’s not always about stronger quads but just training the legs. It’s similar to learning to point the foot, tons of practice until you no longer have to think about it. If you have the lessons the new Lower Body Routine would be helpful, it give you a lot of opportunity to focus on leg extension while doing through different exercises. One other thing, sometime if you have very tight hamstrings fully extending the leg can be difficult. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/527ab98a-edc8-4144-9793-65ca0a9aa0eb
