I’ll be redoing the stretches first as I want the ADV section to focus on flexibility so I have a lot to do before it’s ready but I’m excited!

Starting to work on this! It will be a while before the Adv. is ready to go as I’ll have to create levels 1-3 for that section like the others and I can’t start on that until we move.

For now I’m going to plan as much as I can, between prepping for the move. This way I’ll be ready to film once I have a studio again!

The amazon ones are high wasted as well. Yes anything that will actually grip the pole will need to be that “wet look” PVC fabric.

Ah yes, so it would be like my first videos explaining what to expect in my programs? That’s a good plan.

Do you think I should do advanced level programs like I’ve done with Beg. and Inter?

Awesome, thanks. I’m thinking I’d have everyone use Youtube to upload for grading. This way they can do it privately.

The main thing I’ll need to think about is how to get the word out and where to send them. Discord or the Website? Should we remove the discussions here and just create something that directs people to the Discord for videos and discussions? I’d have to ask webmaster if that would even be an option. I’ll need everyone’s help to spread the word!

Hi! Spins actually take a bit of time to be able to do. They’re listed at the end of my Beginner section for that reason. So don’t feel discouraged at all, this is normal.

Can I ask if you’ve gone through my 30 day take off program? https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view_category/30-day-take-off if you have that’s great and I suggest moving on to the level one beginner program after that to help you continue building the skill and strength for spins.

Also know that static spins can be more challenging for a lot of dancers and spinning pole is just holds while the pole does the work. You could try working on spin (if you have that option) until your grip becomes stronger. When you’re ready to try the spins start from standing in place, just to get the feel, then move on to walking into it which gives you the momentum needed. Have you tried my tutorials for the spins you listed?

This routine will help with grip https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5e7506d9-4224-4491-8439-4bc4ac110005

All you need to do is unlock it so you can twist it, matching the lines. You don’t need to disassemble it.

    Are you asking a question?

The forearm invert can work if you have short limbs. It’s not something that everyone should try as it can put a lot of strain on those of us who have long limbs and more leverage to work with.

Most studios offer things like, yoga, pound classes https://poundfit.com/ stretching classes, workouts, chair dance, aerial and really anything you can thing of that allows for more people in a class. Pole is very limiting because of the space it needs.

They sound like great goals. The first thing you need for teaching is passion and it sounds like you have that.

You don’t have to be able to do every move. Here’s what I think makes a great teacher.

You need to be able to modify moves, make them harder or easier along with that you need the awareness to see when someone might need a modification.

You’ll want a good understanding of body mechanics, there are a lot of ways to do this on your own. Look for reputable people to learn from. Remember, just because someone has a large following on social media doesn’t mean they are sharing safe and effective training methods and ideals. Learn the major muscle groups. I have all of this info in the Veena method course!

You don’t need to be certified in pole (those who sell certifications will not be happy I’ve said this). You can be certified and still have no idea what you’re doing. I took the CPR certification I’d say 5 times before I felt I could actually use it! Certs are a great way for a studio to make money and I don’t fault them for that. But from what I’ve seen what you get is not worth the cost. You can learn a ton on your own if you want to. I’ve been doing that my entire fitness career. I was ACE certified for years before I stopped doing the continuing ed to maintain it. I realized that I was not getting my money’s worth with the courses I was taking.

Train your friends and family, ask them if it’s ok that you try out teaching methods on them, that’s how I started.

You don’t need to teach flow, but a lot of students really enjoy the dance part of pole and it’s a great way to get cardio in without feeling like you’re doing cardio!

Start by getting familiar with the fundamentals and go from there! Remember that owning a pole only studio is tough, most places need to offer more than just pole dance to financially make it work.
