If you’re interesting in the lessons here you’ll find that in include when to exhale during moves along with cues to remember to breath during lessons. The best this is to be aware of it, and practice breathing off the pole in stretches as suggested previously. You’ll find cues for breathing while stretching in the lessons too. 🙂

You can always turn off emails if you don’t want to be updated, but then you won’t see what’s new and you will miss out on new lessons posted, videos and discussions. Just remember you’ve turned them off because we get people who are upset because their not getting emails anymore because they forgot they turned them off!!

The lessons here would be perfect for you! They give structure and have many options for warm ups and you’ll even find stretching and conditioning! The 30 day take off gives you 30 days of pole workouts and the 30 days to flexy provides you with 30 days of structured flexibility and stretching.

My old (like 6 year old) chromes grip well. The newer top loading seem to be slick no matter what I try. Some love the chrome and it works well for them. Right now I’m using brass only because I like the 40mm size, my favorite finish is Powder coated!
If you find you have grip issues this trick has worked on ALL finishes so you might want to check it out, any of you who don’t suffer from sweat. As Skramamme found just dry hands worked well, but if you tend to be cold or dry try this trick for all finishes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgvvc2uvcFw

Ahhhh, I hope you’re ok! The problem with poling in small spaces! 😓

The 30 day take off would be appropriate 😊 just make sure any warm ups listed don’t make you too tired or hot for too long.

Allyson, I call that a brass monkey mount, feels way different then the flag invert.
-
Welcome and thank you for sharing a little bit about you!
Sounds like you would benefit from strength and conditioning so be sure the studio you go to includes this in their classes. If you’re curious, all lessons here on studioveena are placed in order to help you progressively build strength. Also many moves are taught from the floor first.
-
I’m super happy for you! Facing fears = big deal!
-
Congrats!! Conditioning, strength work , transitions and such would be fine, however now is not the time to push yourself. Don’t overheat, drink plenty of water and don’t go crazy with trying new things. I would also avoid static spins as most are not beginner appropriate anyway. You need to build up strength for spins or you can easily injure yourself. 😊
-
If it’s a plank challenge where you add more planks or time holding planks everyday I’d skip that one.
The 30 ab challenge is designed to help you gain strength while giving you the proper recovery time (unlike othe daily challenges) You should be able to incorporate that easily into the 30 days to flexibility, which is a guide not a challenge. 😊
-
It’s SUPER common to feel that way!! One thing to keep in mind is depending on the camera quality and angles used, we can end up looking far different than in real life! Also the first time I saw myself, blah I was not happy. The same when I started doing voiceovers for the lessons, I was horrified by my voice lol
My point is, don’t let this feeling stop you from recording or posting progress. It’s really important to have video to look back on. 💜

AdministratorApril 26, 2015 at 11:13 am in reply to: Practicing more often, pain in lower shoulder bladesI would back off the spins and make sure you do them towards the end of your pole sessions. Keep up with the conditioning, I still do the conditioning I’ve shared with everyone in the lessons every week! 😊

Day 27! â˜”ï¸ #SVAprilAbs – Pencilhttps://instagram.com/p/18Y4UyJAeH/
Here is the lesson https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4d4ac19e-4054-4b80-8668-03ba0ac37250 knowing POC while entering is important and addressed in the studioveena.com lesson! 💜
You see 3 options. The first is the pencil the next can help you “feel” the position while inverted (do not lift from here that’s not the goal in the clip) and the last is becoming comfortable with hand placement 😊
Abdominal contacting is key to maintaining any “stand” on or off the pole, try working up to 10 reps.
Bottoms are from @kupmykakez go check her out! Follow her, follow me, and hashtag #SVAprilAbs for a chance to win! 🎉
