It’s the same motion as this just lying down 😊 https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/f6257c78-b909-11df-856f-001b214581be

Yes, it’s a ballerina spin on spinning pole. This spin can also be done on static. BOTH are shown in the lesson. The static variation requires more strength.

    IT’S NOT A BEGINNER MOVE! 🙈

Working on handstands is helpful for improving wrist strength. Also you’ll find several wrist and shoulder conditioning and mobility lessons here. Keep in mind some bodies aren’t meant to do some moves, that doesn’t mean you can’t come up with a similar outcome in your own safe way! 😊

August 13, 2015 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Cup Grip Deadlift Tips?

Deadlifting from cup grip takes beastly strength!! The small change in grip really does make it more difficult because it changes the angle of the lift. Even when using a cup grip position you can still have tendinitis and other issues that come along with deadlifting too often, so keep reps to no more than 10 per session to avoid overuse injury.

Keep working on assending from cup grips and hit the gym lifting weights to target shoulders, lats and obliques! For any deadlifts working internal and external shoulder rotations will be helpful in injury prevention as well.

Studioveena IS a studio, but online so if you choose to learn here you’re not self taught. I’m your teacher so you don’t have to stress about figuring out things yourself! 💜 The lessons here are placed in a structured order and I’m a quick message away if you have questions or concerns so you’re not alone! 😊

Being self taught, as in not having any guidance, is tough but if you understand body mechanics and have a previous background in fitness or strength training it totally possible. 😊

I only follow a handful, if I do more I just can’t keep up and I end up missing things I really want to see.

On FB I don’t friend people just because I like them or know them. I have a small amount of friends so I can see everyone. I don’t follow pole people on FB.

I love seeing all the posts here and while I can’t always watch every video I try my best. I’m able to stay connected here because it’s my job! SV comes first for me, I don’t want to spend my life on social media. 💜

Couch cushions are always a cheap way to go if you have them! Otherwise try something like this I bought 2 for around my pole http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0016BUR9G/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?qid=1438989575&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=workout+mats+for+home

Chin tucked is always a good thing to practice!

I have used a 38 and really enjoyed it! Yes the thinner the pole the more it bends but hard normal. 😊

I like my KMKs! The waist isn’t too tight but it’s a challenge for me to keep them long over my heels. I’m just under 5′ 8″ if that helps. The fit over all is very comfy!!! 💜

Please be careful if you choose to place the pole on the tailbone, this could bruise terribly or even cause unnecessary trauma to the sacrum. I’ve not tried this move yet, but I’ll give it a go in a few weeks after my vacation. If I have time to put my pole up before I leave Thursday I’ll give it a go, and provide tips.

I am someone who even in summer I don’t stick to chrome well, I just don’t have naturally moist legs. I use this combination if I run into a pole that I can’t stick to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgvvc2uvcFw
