You can purchase a beginner to intermediate spinning dvd to practice at home. I purchased Princess Me Me’s Essential Pole Dance DVD Volume 1 at http://www.poledancedvd.com. Bobbi’s studio in Australia has Spin Pole dvds too but I found it more intermediate to advance spin lessons. The Princess Me me’s dvd is a great introduction lessons to spin mode, So safe to do at home on your own.

Going from an advance plank into layback twisting over into an ayasha is my favorite transition out of advance plank is too. we call it spinderella. If my student was willing to go to a layback from advance plank, there are many combos from there. But she is scared to go into a layback as she fell out of it before at another studio. I was thinking maybe going to a V sit with both hands on pole in a baseball grip, so a no sitting on wrist hello boys move might work for her

February 9, 2014 at 7:44 pm in reply to: Stage Poles, Is it safe to do certain spins on them?

My good friend Shaunyn Pollard, Miss Pole Dance CANADA 2011, used a PS Star stand alone version 3 for her pole performances on Canada’s Got Talent. Shaunyn’s original stage name is Phoenix pole pouncer and she invented the phoenix move that took the reverse grab move into a whole new level. Phoenix is the reverse grab into lifting into the twisted grip ayasha. I watched her live on Canada’s got talent and she did the russian splits from the top of the 9 foot pole. She did all kinds of crazy mind blowing jaw dropping move all on a platium stage star stand alone 7 foot with 2 feet extention. She is all muscle. The pole does wobble and sway but it held her in all her powerful spins and tricks. So my advise is try it 1st on a PS star stage alone. If it is your power move, go for it but make sure you tried practicing your power moves on it 1st. Call different studios in your area if they have a PS STAR STAGE and ask to have pole practice session on it. Or send our a request here on studio veena for anyone who has this stage close by to you if you can have a pole jam session with them to run over your moves.

Wow Lina, your super smooth and strong,Your Phoenix looks awesome. Love all your spins. Thanks for the great tips. Gonna go back to my circular reverse grab. I do my reverse grab with my dominant hand at shoulder level and can get a far big spin that way but in my TG grip mount , my dominant top hand is head height. I got to play around with my grip at my phoenix attempts to see which grip height  will work for me.

Awesome, thanks Lina, that is inspirational to me knowing it can be done without having the tg lift. Also, do you do the reverse grap in a circular motion around the pole? I was told it should be a triangle motion instead or a regular circular motion spin around the pole. When I kick my leg to the reverse grab my leg kicks and body makes a circular or oval motion around the pole. I cant do the triangular motion as I end up banging my head on the pole on the way back tring to go into the phoenix.

Mine is Phoenyx , Iron X and TG lift. I got my TG mount solid now but I still can only do a controlled kick into it.

So, I went to rehearsal at the theater for tomorrow night's showcase and was shocked on how spinny the xpole celing mounted pole was. It is 50% more spinny than my PS Star stage pole. I am so screwed. 1 min of my routine is on spinny. I felt out of control with the spin with the amount of takeoff I was use to and been practicing. After crying, hyperventilating and an anxiety attack at the theater, I kept trying some more. I found that  I had to put very little push with my toes only and only lift up into my sitting ballerina. And The room is still spinning for a few seconds on me before I walk over to the static pole in which is 9 feet away and 10 sec to get to it. HELP

Webmaster, is there a difference in grip from the pink, black and red powder coated poles lil mynx has? I have tried their pink pole and love the superior grip. I just purchased a condo by the ocean at Ft Lauderdale and want to purchase the SV pole as it is so easy to put up and down. I just need to measure height as soon as we close.

Charley, I hope your right about auto pilot. Luvlee, I hope your wrong. But knowing me, my nerves will probably mess me up. I know I would be upset at myself if I messup badly as sooooo much time and practice has gone into a 3 1/2 min routine. I will post a vid here after good or bad. Any last minute advise on performing well?

I'm so glad everything worked out for you. What a treat getting a goody bag. I love Live Once video. It's one of my favorite pole videos. Elisabeth breaks down the moves so well. I   actually have been going to her new studio Muse Fitness and train with her. She is an AWESOME pole instructor.

Hi LolaSlaytor, The one I had was called Dance Journal from Itune app store. Its pink cover with a ballet dancer in front for $1.99. I was able to record videos from my camera and transfer it into the dance journal. Gave the title/name of move, who taught it, what caterory like floorwork, tricks, spins etc. And notes on how to do the move. I loved this app.

Really Webmaster. That would be great. I have the Xstage in 50mm chrome and wanted to buy the Titanium gold pole when it 1st came out and was told by who ever answered the phone that its not interchangable. I had to purchase the whole stage to get the titanium gold. I have to call them again . That would be awesome if It is interchangable.

Hi, I have both version 3 ezconnect platinium stage and xstage. I also rent them out often. I have regular customers who have rented them both and most of them love the  portablility  and ease of putting the PS together more. What I love about the PS STAR STANDALONE is that I can interchange the pole with the same base. This cannot be done with the x stage. I have 45 and 50 mm in stainless steel and 40 and 50 mm in brass and 45 mm with the latex polesleeves. I also love how low it is so I can transition easily into floorwork. But don't get me wrong.I love the look of the xstage. It is beautiful and professional looking.

You can always do face painted spiderman and red and black bootyshorts-crop top. That should be easy enough to do and will go with your theme.

Also, Only If you plan on poling with heels on, make sure you purchase the canvas cover. So worth it. I use my spiky heel directly on it with no problem. My friend did not purchase a cover and forgot to take her stillitoes off one time and dug several  hole in it.
