I have a performance Saturday and competition coming up soon and I am doing a serious dramatic piece this time, weird I know! But as always, I am dancing sooo fast and not really taking time to enjoy it or command the audience's attention like I could be. How do I get around this?! I usually pick fast songs so that's part of my problem, and in my head I am in a trick and then already thinking of the next 3 after it! It's bad :/ not to mention the timing with this song is super important. How do I slow down and just feel the music and the character?! Heeeellllppp!

Is it possible she was just encouraging you to buy the finish the studio carries? I think the Veena pole sounds perfect for you 🙂 for sure do a 45 if you have small hands it's also becoming the industry standard now where it used to 50s. Enjoy your home pole and your pole journey!

I should have said – I have mostly trained on chrome, but have used powder coated, brass and stainless. Chrome is my favorite and powder coated second. Speaking from performing/competing experience, If your hand sweat issues are that bad which mine are also, it's best to try and deal with the sweat issues if you can so you could do performances that are not on your home pole in case there was a situation where you needed to be on a different finish. I love dirty girl poletice it has helped me a lot. Increasing your grip strength can also help because if your grip is really strong you won't slide as much even if you hands are sweating. I feel like dry hands only works for me at the beginning and then my hands sweat right through it, and they do sweat way more before performances! Nothing has worked as well for me as the dirty girl. I also have a friend who puts dove extra strength deodorant on her hands before she goes to bed and she says it helps too! I hope you find a cure, i hate how sweaty my hands get 🙁

I have crazy sweaty hands and pole finish doesn't seem to matter much to me either. Brass is super grippy though so I imagine it may be too grippy in your climate – but I have only trained on chrome for the past 4 years so I can't really say. I have good sticky days and bad sticky days. Some days my pole is slippy and other days it's grippy. I think every pole has good and bad points. The Veena pole may be a great choice for you due to the quality for the price point if it's your first home pole. Good luck 🙂

My fiance does hair and he will bleach up to once a week but I don't recommend that because of what Cherished said! I had the same over processing experience. Spend a few bucks on a salon brand deep conditioner and wait at least 4 weeks. Good luck I hope it turns out!! xo

I used to go from work to having to teach class back to back and Luna bars/kind bars and a small coconut water 30 mins before class saved me. Light enough you won’t get sick but carby enough to boost your energy.

I popped my rib out doing jades wrong!! 🙁 It sucked. It's finally better but it hurt like a bitch anytime I moved for about a week. I also have a super painful pulled hamstring behind my right knee, I am a mess. And I have a competition coming up!

I am working on adding people to the list too –

    Simplly Sweet

    Polefitmom

    Chemgoddess

    Mary Ellyn Weissman

    Bob Zamora

    Poledancefan/Joel Lessing

So sorry if your name is missing – I never sent Veena an official list of who donated and the card only fit a small amount of characters so we signed it from everyone. I will try to keep adding names here as I realize who is missing. Thanks Rara for all your help with this and coordinating everything!

I'm just like Danielle and "making the best in economic times" haha I like how she phrased that! I am also a makeup artist, have worked on and off in a crazy diner where I get to wear a poodle skirt dance on the counter and be rude to customers, I teach pole here and there and I just opened my own cupcake business and I hope to one day have a cupcake shop. Love everyone's jobs 🙂

I’d be willing to part with them for cheaper than $40 just to send them to a good home. They make me so sad sitting there unworn! Pokey if you could do $30 plus shipping they are yours! Lmk if you want closer photos 🙂

Yes veena does have foam rolling lessons 🙂 It took me about 4-6 months of continuous stretching to get down on the ground, but a little longer to flatten them, and ive heard some people take up to a year, just dpeneds on where youre starting and how flexy you are 🙂

Veena can answer this best but for me personally, foam rollers help me loosen my muscles to get deeper into stretches, I use it to angle my body to get deeper stretches, and I use it under my bum when sitting as far down in the splits as i can go to take some pressure off then I can usually go a little more. It also feels great on sore muscles the day after a hard pole session it especially feels great when you roll your back! You can also use them for oversplits. Hope this helped some 🙂
