I have been poling now for 3 years, I have only just started going to the gym to work harder on upper body, core and legs I decided to do this as I felt I was not gaining much strength lately to move on, it will also help me work both sides evenly, however I believe if you do weight work you need to also concentrate on flexibility as well. I struggle big time with flexibility I work consistently and see consistent small results, but I sure am much more flexible than what I was 3 years ago.

I Look at supplements in any form this way, If you believe they are working for you whether it be the supplements doing their job or mind over matter they are working therefore they have been worth the expense and the risk to take them. They cannot be doing us any worse harm than Pharmaceuticals, trans fats or diet drinks etc etc, I use protein powder at times, i use many health supplements and i truly believe i am better off for it, i rarely get sick i have good muscle growth and definition for a 51 year old.:) Therefore in answer to the original question go for it cant really be to much harm if any:)

I was fairly fit when I started, I had been doing cardio and free weights for a year or two, this did not help any when if come to starting pole I managed 3 times a week in thf beginning and I was very sore after each time so much that I wondered what the heck I was doing to myself but my love of it kept me going, after 3 years I still get sore if I have a heavy session, I still get massive bruises, but it is not as bad as the first 12 months, make sure you warm up and cool down with stretching it helps also a nice bath with Epsom salts. The burning gets better too.I am 51 years old now and I do get very tired after my sessions but I hear the young ones do too!:-) I take s good quality multivitamin drink plenty of water and eat well This to will help you.:)

Once you get to my age you won’t be bothered by those things in fact you will turn them into an advantage. I find my rolls of loose skin serves me well when doing no hands cradle.:-)

You can also just grab the piece you want znd drop it in your project . To do this hold down the mouse button drag it over the movie clip and when you have your piece keep your finger on the mouse button and drag it to your project, release the mouse button and Voila you HSBC the clip you want put your transition in then go get the next piece you want yo put in

The studio I used to go to have SS poles, I hated them with a passion, some evenings the slip was so bad we literally could not do anything on them, I tried all the grips I could get my hands on. There were the odd times when they were ok, usually when the weather was humid .

Seriously, I believe an ATHLETE is someone who sets a goal and works hard to achieve that goal. Someone that challenges themself to do something they consider impossible and inspire many along their journey.

Hi, I have not done Any weight work other than strength building using the pole, and push-ups also ab work, pushing your own body weight is the best weight workout ever. If you want to advance quicker perhaps it could be beneficial but in all honesty I would not know. Flexibility becomes a must do as you become further advanced , and also something that you will strive for.

Clavrot, there are some supplements that are not synthetic, totally organic, have no fillers, coatings or nasties!

As i said before supplementation is about achieving optimum nutrition, therefore our cells perform better, which in turn helps us in numerous ways, firstly  to achieve optimum health and well being, i for one am not dissapointed by this thread, a person asked a genuine question and people have given their honest answers, it has been interesting to hear others opinions, and just as yours and mine they are only opinions, which some have based on their own profssional advice and research.

Clavrot, it is a well known and researched fact that our fruit and vegetables do not  contain all the vitamins and minerals we need nowdays, unless of course you grow your own organically. to think otherwise is ignorance.

Supplements that are organic and not filled with fillers and coatings are fine, unfortunately a lot on the market are not good quality, I spend around the price of a coffee and donut a day on supplements, they are one of the best brands on the market, I have been taking them for 4 years now, my blood test actually improved my doctor is constantly amazed at my results at age, and always asks me what Am i doing.Of course you need to be careful, do your research and talk to professionals, I will take supplements before I take any prescription medication.achieving optimum nutrition is what it’s about.Dr Ross Walker has written an excellent book (The cell factor) based on research into using supplements to optimize your health! There is just so much evidence out there for the benefits of supplements, but at the end of the day it’s the individuals own choice, I choose to pay money for this rather than coffee and cake based on what I have experienced for myself by taking them and based on the reading and research I have done and that’s good enough for me .:-)

I disagree with some of these comments, I believe the DVD was never about sexy floor moves but was advertised as exactly what it is, I love it but each to their own I guess, on Cleo’s stretching FB page there are hundreds who have purchased the DVD and love it. 🙂 I love it.
