Last week we had some guys in to quote on a new heater and the pole room(where the heater is)had my sewing gear all set up there including piles of tiny sparkly booty shorts(I make and sell sparkly shorts and tops to fund my pole addiction if anyone is interested). The younger one kept looking from the shorts to the pole to me and you could see he wanted to say something but being all of about 17 wasn’t game to. Probably the presence of my partner aided his tongue tiedness, lol! Apparently when the electrician was here a few weeks back he suggested my partner bust out a few moves on the pole though which would have been funny to witness…

You say that your skin is very dry, so I thought I would chip in and say that the dryer my skin is the more I find I slip on a stainless pole. I also slip more on then when sweaty though. I use no grip at all most of the time on anything other than stainless poles where I an forever reapplying. I would go titanium, but that’s just me and I have brass which I love to bits.

Ok, so you are a paid member who when they had a problem and wanted to know something was no able to use that paid membership profile with which to complain because you were worried it would cause repercussions or something for you under that name or something so you instead chose to make a fuss, insult people and complain bitterly about how hard done by you are using another name. Ok, now I understand the situation I am unfollowing this thread because it doesn’t warrant following and doing so will only feed this behavior. Veena doesn’t ‘have’ to provide any extra content, she does it because she wants to. She will put up pole move tutorials when she is ready and able(ie time permits), not because someone demands her to do so. If she wants to make pretty videos of herself dancing, well and good. Don’t try and stifle someone else’s artistic expression because you feel that they would be better off using their time to fulfill your own desires.

If you are planning on glamming it up, you could get a piece of stretch sequin trim which you can get in all sorts of widths from a single row of sequins up to I think 11 inches! 2-3 inch width should do the job and just stitch it over the existing waistband. I did this for a friend last year who had the same problem and it worked out fine.

Lou landers will be at the convention and she is the most amazing teacher. Her troubleshooting of tricks is amazing. I guarantee you would come out of a private withe her having learned heaps. You could all do a lot worse than to take her polesations workshop there too, her workshops are always fantastic!

No idea if it will help you, but as I do this move I push my shoulder blades together which helps with both the lift and the arch. If i get tired it gets lop sided though, which is not so pretty. We call it the resurrection, for obvious reasons, hehe…

Pole Divas are located in Prahran and Richmond, quite close to the city. You can check out their website at http://www.poledivas.com.au/Default.aspx for yourself. They have courses from beginner to elite as well as a variety of workshops and casual classes a couple of times a week, and that is just the pole stuff.

I sometimes have the same problem, and I found that lifting up through the lower core muscles in my abs pretty much fixes it. It is caused for me because I scrunch up my abs in the mistaken effort to get my knees further back than they really need to be. For me fixing the problem is about getting my hips in the right place, it may be totally different for you though.

All I can say is wow about all the Negativity that has been brought forth on this subject.
That said I will say that since I follow platinum stages on Facebook and the first I saw of this video was them promoting it, the company fairly obviously does not see any slamming of their product in it or any bias against them either, so this is really just one persons opinion, and everyone’s entitled to one. You are not however entitled to try and force it down another’s throat. There was no discussion, Peyton simply voiced her opinion and then employed a bunch of vitriol and insults to ‘back it up’. That is not a free and open discussion, which I believe was what she said she was trolling for.
Finally, I will say that I enjoyed the video and I think it is great that it was made and that I do not see any bias one way or the other in the way it is made. I wish I could say I have tried both products but I have not, PS are not to my knowledge available in Australia whereas x-pole are so my knowledge on the which is better debate is useless here. All I can say is I enjoyed the video for what it was, a comparison. Thank you for making it.

I ordered some tite grip II lavender but when it arrived it was plain ole tite grip. Since I am in Australia I don’t know whether to bother with returning it and I don’t really want to fork out for more from the company in case the same thing happens. I am finding tite grip works ok on the stainless steel poles at the studio but not quite and was looking forward to trying the new formula and seeing if it was better. any suggestions for grip on stainless steel poles anyone?

Don’t glue it, the glue will go hard and won’t stretch with the fabric and things will fall off very quickly and very easily…

No idea why the dome is TG other than that it looks pretty, but the adjuster cover has screw threads and I don't think that brass would be able to take the regular usage that they get since it is quite a soft metal.  Perhaps the dome is TG because of the rotating part?

Do you stop when you are spinning from both directions?   As in spinning left and also spinning right?  I find that on spin, some moves cause me to start to spin backwards because they are in the oppostie direction to the one I am spinning in if that makes sense.  Maybe the direction you are moving in to get to the front of the pole is counter to the direction the pole is moving which causes it to start to spin backwards and therefore grind to a halt?  It's hard to say without seeing it, but it is a thought perhaps…

  • The studio I take lessons at have Pussycat poles and I have to say that  at under a year of use they are starting to develop patches on them that appear to be much less grippy than they were when they are new.  The spot at the height that most people tend to grip at is becoming smoother to look at even and I have to say I am feeling the wear on them.  I was talkign with a few other girls at the studio today and they were saying the same thing as I have been thinking about the poles seeming to lose their grip.  Even the instructor made a comment about it.  I clean my brass pole at home with acetone and stick to it like glue.  I have been using it on the ones in the studio when I go and it helps to a point, but I still have to pack on the grip which I generally never have to do.

This is going to sound so weird, but my old instructor used to teach this trick by advocating ‘Mr Bean hips’. If you have ever seen the Mr Bean tv shows or movies, check out the way he walks with his hips kinda thrust forward. She would have us practice that walk and just putting our hips in and out of the position before trying the trick. It really works, and it’s fun too, lol!

  • Thank you so much!

  • I know just how you feel.  I have sent out what feels like a million, and truthfully probably runs into at least a couple thousand, individual mails on my facebook account and about 90% of them are ignored.  I did have one lovely lady who told me she could not vote for it because she was a woman of god and could not vote for stripping who when I mailed her back explaining it is pole fitness not stripping not only voted but asked if I knew anywhere near her that she could go to take lessons!  I directed her here to ask if anyone here knew, lol.  I feel very disillusioned with the lack of caring nature people have shown on facebook though.  The game requests keep on coming and something that could actually make a difference in the world gets completely ignored.  How sad.

Oh, I am so sorry this has happened.  Just take the time to grieve and take in the news.  It takes time to process things like that, especially when it is so sudden.  Give yourself time and get back into life and poling when you are ready.  I am thinking af you for all it means…
