Good for you for taking charge and seeing if you feel a difference. I started the paleo diet in June after a lifetime of having a really fussy stomach – I hoped to see improved energy and performance of course, but most of all hoped it would help my tummy issues.

I will tell you that eliminating dairy and gluten can be a definite shock to your system – I went through a detox of sorts that included fatigue and extreme moodiness. It passed rather quickly though – google "paleo flu" and you will see that you are not alone.

Some people realize that they feel better almost immediately, like me – others it may not be a big enough difference to continue. I hope that you will keep us posted on how this works for you!

By the way – I also learned that my chocolate cravings were due to not eating enough fat. Spoonful of almond butter or guacamole – yes please. 🙂

What is the scoop on the performances? Can't wait to hear more details since I know it will be a while before video will be available. I'm stalking youtube for bootlegs anyways. 🙂

I had the same issue with my 40mm – do you have 9 ft ceilings? Mine was doing the same thing and it was because the skinnier pole wasn't able to be as sturdy at that height without an additional extension. Getting the additional extension fixed it like a champ – except for the tiny bit of warping that happened while I overtightened it to compensate for the knocking. Don't do what I did – good luck!

I also have 9ft ceilings – I never had an additional extension for my 45 or 50mms when I had those, but I just got a 40mm (yay!) and if you are going with that one, I would definitely get the extension. With it being so much skinnier I found it needed the extra stability – I don't think I would have been comfortable without it.

I have been taking Pure Barre classes in Charlotte religiously over the past year and love it. I find that it's very complimentary to pole – it works some deep muscles and I like that they balance each muscle group out with a good stretch. It is HARD – like, muscles quivering and failing hard. You wouldn't think that it would be so intense with such delicate movements, but it is!

I had to take about 8 months off from pole after having my knee reconstructed, and Pure Barre was the only exercise I could do for some time. It's controlled movements really helped me get strong and gain confidence again, and every class is always a challenge. They play great music, too! The best part for me is that my middle has lost 2 inches since starting- and other areas have improved as well. They focus heavily on women's problem areas. Give it a try – if you have questions feel free to reach out to me via message. I would recommend taking classes in person to start until you get comfortable with the method before moving to the DVDs – just to make sure you are doing it right and getting the most out of it. Get ready to lift, tone and burn! 🙂

Oh yes – the thigh pain. It will definitely get better with time – just keep trying! And in the meantime, arnica for the bruising (I've even iced before) and lots of patience. It took a while for me. 🙂

I love Karol! I've taken her workshops before and one of the first ones I took was when I was super beginner – I ended up in a tricks workshop where she took requests and everyone wanted to learn holly drops and Jenyne tumbles. Yikes! She did a good job of recognizing that I was left in the dust and worked with me on a couple things that were more my level. She is a strong teacher and does a great job at making sure everyone gets something out of her class. Enjoy!

I didn't think anything could be worse than hip hold for me – and the only reason I even really pushed for that was because I wanted a jade so badly. 🙂 Then I started working on my knee hold – due to a knee injury, my knee was not stable enough and my legs weren't strong enough to make it happen.

I thought that after getting my knee reconstructed last April that I would be able to do it – except that the site that they used to harvest my hamstring graft now has a screw in it, and that is exactly where my bottom leg contacts the pole to support me. I still try it once a week, and have always felt like I had a high pain tolerance – but yeah. This makes me want to cry. I may have to just accept that I am not that tough of a chick! And that is ok. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

Oh, I know what a "bigot" is – I didn't recognize this new spelling! Good to know.

I vote that Payton either start her own site so she can stop being a troll here, and/or maybe conduct her own demo of both poles to show us her unbiased view. I have always been grateful for this site for remaining mature and respectful in it's communication, and will be happy to see that continue.

In the meantime, I will do some research to figure out what the word "bigget" means. Wish me luck! 😉

Runemist, what a great reply. I needed to read that too! I blew my knee out early this year and had ACL reconstruction about 6 months ago. I can pole again finally, but yes – all of my strength is gone and so is my confidence.

I am having a hard time enjoying pole just to enjoy it – I keep comparing myself to where I was and it is taking all of the fun out of it. AmberJade, I hope it gets better for both of us!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Haha Amy – I saw the word "geometry" and started sweating. But 10th grade geometry reared it's ugly head and that is a perfect way to describe it!

Okay, I am officially five years old, crying from laughing so hard at this thread. What is wrong with people? And the word "garden" is killing me – I have never heard that one before! lol

Thank you, Lemon Drop! That is a great attitude and I am excited to get confidence into my knee again like you have! You had both done – wow, you are a tough one! I think one is about all I can handle. 🙂

  • @Polefitfanatic – that is wonderful! Isn't it funny how that happens? It's like when you take your car to the mechanic and it magically fixes itself. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Great job!
