Hi Pole Fitness
No, Didem is a different dancer that the one in your link. The girl in your link is a Turkish dancer named Nuran.
Here is another link for Didem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjHTYO5plBI&feature=related
I don't follow too much belly dancing but she is the thinnest I've seen so far.

You summed it up Sensualscimitar! and wow@Corby that dancer looks like she is underwater.
-
I also don't really think size makes it or breaks it for either belly dance or pole if you've got the moves.
Didem the turkish belly dancer is model thin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlrPRmHF058
She seems to have gained popularity – I don't know whose who of the belly dancing community and I've seen negative comments about her size but she has 5 million views for the link I posted. At the very least I like to watch her vids lol
Although a certain size might be an advantage for some forms of dance, for me it just depends on how much time and dedication is put into developing your skill big or small 🙂

For an intense moisturizer I use aquaphor (it has the texture of petroleum gel) and put vaseline intensive care lotion over it. It makes my skin very soft. You can try it over night. If I use it during the day also I take a hot shower right before I pole and I get a good stick.

Thanks Madfelice. I will do this tip too. I was wondering if there was a name for that move – glad to know 🙂
-
I learned it from Veena's floor method. I practiced from the ground for a few days with the cup grip because it took me less strength than the V grip. I also thought I was a long way off from doing it but I wanted to see how far off of the ground I could get when standing and I just ended up going all the way.
Another thing that helped to get it was to use a grip aid. After I had to relearn it without but I just wanted the extra ease and security at first.

Thank you Amy – I'm glad to have some direction on this finally. I love your blog by the way 🙂
Also thank you Sensualscimitar 🙂 I will try your tips. My quads seem to be flexible enough but the undulations will probably take me some time!

Here are a few comments from another forum about botox for hands
http://www.realself.com/forum/botox-sweaty-hands-feet
Also what about having a few pairs of grip gloves and switching them during a pole session when one starts getting too slippery?

I mean making posts to bash as trolling not this thread lol
-
I'm not sure what the rules are here but I personally think posters who insult other members should be banned or at least have their post edited or deleted. I've noticed when inappropriate comments were made towards other members here it was dealt with very quickly and the comment was removed so I don't think that Webmaster should have to put up with insults directed towards him when he and V take time to keep us protected from such abuse. A difference of opinion is great but bashing another person is not. I also see this as trolling.

Great thread 🙂 I want to say thank you to Veena and Webby as well. I love this site. I have advanced so much with the lessons. I learn so much info about pole from the forum and appreciate a place where my interests are shared by a whole community. Definitely very grateful to have come across StudioV.com!!!

MemberJanuary 6, 2012 at 1:40 am in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoFor myself, I did find that the video seemed more about why the Xstage is better than the PS stand alone than a product review of both. However, this is not a healthy debate.
If Payton feels PS is better then where are the points on what makes it a better choice? For example: because the PS is lighter and has a shorter set up time it might be more convenient for travel as opposed to "who needs to see Veena's husband?". Name calling is unacceptable. I actually did like the stability test, there are women of all sizes who pole dance who might want to see someone of Webmaster's size do a demo.
While I do think Xpole was shown in a better light, the video did not make any false statements about the PS pole.
I just would've preferred pros and cons of each. Amcut highlighted a few pros that could've used some focus in the video in my opinion. Also some faults of the Xpole were mentioned in this thread too.
So Payton while you did say things that were valid to me – I found the point about PS poles being used at bespun interesting as that was something I didn't know before and I am interested to see Felix's demo to see what can be done safely on the stand alone and what type of usage someone can get out of the pole.
Your approach was too negative. You don't need to sugarcoat but you don't need to be rude and hostile it takes the same amount of energy as being a kiss *ss. You could've made your points without doing either.
I am a PS fan and have not used an Xpole. I love my pole and hope PS continues to improve. I think they've greatly improved their customer service by adding Erica to their team. I hope they fix the issues with the stand alone.

I have the worst sexy face! It looks more like scowl monster face so I try to smile instead.

I would check if the instructors or students have posted videos on youtube so you can see a demonstration of their skills and pick from which style you like the best. You can also see if any of the schools offer teaser/sampler classes or open house evenings.

I agree that it's best to just delete & block. There's lots of great people in this world – and on this site 🙂 that can appreciate you which leaves no time to waste on internet cowards (misery loves company)

MemberNovember 30, 2011 at 7:31 pm in reply to: Anyone had bikini/brazilian wax job done?Another possibility could be ingrown hairs. If I get any of those from waxing I use Tendskin and it always works for me. Another thing you can do is make sure to exfoliate the area with a loofah.

I agree with Mikki. Personally though I don't think I was able to climb at 2 months but because you've already done it then it looks like the weather could be the main factor. A lot of people either stick better to the pole in warm weather and others (like me) stick better when the pole is cold.

I was first drawn to the sensual side of pole dancing then I became amazed by the acrobatic side of it. It is something I am so motivated to master completely. I later discovered another plus which is the fitness side. I never really cared about it initially but it keeps me in such good shape and I can pole for hours but can't withstand a gym workout for more than 15 minutes. Also growing up we were not allowed to do any forms of dance or gymnastics which really appealed to me as a child / adolescent / teen. Pole gives me a chance to pursue those things and show myself that it's never too late to get up and make a change in life. Accomplishing this challenge has also given me the guts to set out to reach other goals in different areas of life. To sum it all up I pole for self-expression, fun, fitness and success.
