It may have been a simple oversight. I do think they should have explained all of this and it does make me think they aren't organized but that could be momentarily.
I would go to the office and talk with them more and atleast meet them. Find out what they are thinking. Remember any interview is as much you interviewing them as them interviewing you. I'm a firm believer that in any field it's just as important to make sure the job is also right for you. I am really against taking jobs just because you have to because those situations rarely work out…(although I know we don't always get to pick and choose, but I like to put everything out there before I take a job.)
Also you need to find a kind way to bring up your concerns about their communication with one another and it made you wonder how organized they are and if this is a headache you are going to have to continue to deal with.

I can atest to the vinegar! Our X-stage was super slippery and very unworkable, after a cleaning of vinegar – it was great.
I'll also try vodka but I think vinegar in the end is going to be the most economical solution.

I keep a pole journal for this reason. When I get in that new trick mood I'll go back and look at what I had wanted to do and I make notes on moves to and sometimes just that break helps me.
I've got a loooong list of moves I've put aside…some I have gotten and some I have but aren't pretty and there are a few I haven't got at all.
I think a break is good sometimes – rest and a fresh mind are great things when approaching old challenges 🙂

MemberFebruary 22, 2011 at 1:53 pm in reply to: Pole instructor audition…at a strip club??????I hope it's just that they don't have their poles up yet, but I'd be leary of someone who would ask an instructor to audition at a strip club in a bad neighborhood. I think you should politely ask why and let them know you don't like the neighborhood and feel as though it could be a bad situation.
Why can't they look at a video of you as an audition? If I see that they are executing their fundamentals well then I would want to audition them to teach, not to perform for me – but I would have them prepare a mini class for me so I can see how they teach.
No matter what, keep yourself safe. We need Glitter in one piece safe and sound!!!!!!

MemberFebruary 22, 2011 at 12:30 pm in reply to: Does there come a time when you HAVE to use grip aid?I'm a big grip aid user. I have extremely sweaty hands so I am always layering on the Tite Grip. I rely heavily on anti perspirants.
Now grippy grip aids – I don't use those too often but I will use them in class if I'm doing a demonstration and the poles are still kinda cold or my skin is really dry (I'm so lucky to have sweaty palms and dry legs – nice combination!)
I don't think you want too get reliant on grippy gip aids but for a performance I might have the poles prepped with something. I usually have my pole prepped with Grrrip because because my hands are sweaty I can pick up the aid off the pole and my hand grips will be solid.
But I don't think there comes a time where you have to use grip aid – it's up to you. I also think if you're getting frustrated or the extra stickiness will make something safer you should go for it.
Lots of other sports use grip aids – so why shouldn't we? 🙂

I'm sorry the competition didn't go as you hope Lulu 🙁
I think you should keep trying! Never give up on yourself. I feel like these competitions push people to surpass what they thought they could achieve. We've all seen you grow so much as a dancer.
That chair routine was off the hook. I love it so much!!!!!!! No matter what be proud of yourslef – you got out there 3 times with different Lulu's – that's amazing! It was great to see the different sides of your personality and you really do bring it when you perform!

I think maybe I'm not pulling the foot towards the ground and my torso is very rounded. It's also only on the 45 that I cannot get flat 🙁

Hi! We will be on 50mm chrome X-stages. I was hoping to find a venue where we could install X-perts but the venue was too small – the max capacity was 120 ppl and I didn't feel like that would be comfortable for people.
If you sent me an MP4A – I can still use it and Melanie sent me your file – so no worries.
If you have an Itunes purchase you can turn it into an Mp3 by going under advanced options and you should have the option to make an Mp3 version. I know it's confusing and I just recently learned this, lol!
I'll convert it for you but please bring a back up CD too. Just in case something goes wring with the DJ's computer or I mislabel music which has happened before or in one case I looked at the registration and downloaded the song but it ended up being the wrong song because the artist and song were switched.

I want to thank all of you who plan on coming – it's so cool to finally get to meet some of you in person for the first time and see those of you who I haven't seen in forever again.
We've got a really fun filled night plan with performances and a raffle.
Thank you Sissy and HOP for offering gift certificates and PoleFIT is giving away a free airbrush tan, 5 pack of FIT classes and a free private with me! More to come!
If you'd like to add to our kitty – let me know! <3

Charley is a combination of my first and last name but I need to come up with a last name now lol as Charley Pole isn't terribly believeable.
The first pet and street game – I love it – I'm "Frisky New York" using that method.

The Platinu stages regular stage pole is fine – the one with the foot high base.
