Hey guys! Yea I don't necessarily follow the diet plan, I eat paleo which actually has some similarities. And I didn't buy the supplements because I track nutrients in my diet and feel pretty confident that I am doing ok on my own, but if you have holes in your diet for sure fill them in with supplements!

As far as pole goes,  I generally fit it in on legs days and sometimes (I am on week 6 where it is 6 days of training) on the off I will try and pole, but my body is usually so fatigued by the rest day that I regret having poled lol.

But it is a really great program super thorough, and I have been writing down all my weights and stuff and I have increased a minimum of 10lbs on everything I lift, but in most cases more XD love it! I am gonna do the whole program, can not give up! My poling is more solid too, I am just a beginner but a lot of the poses that were giving me a hard time due to strength are easier.

So amazing and inspriring! Long way to go but just a little show that all the hard work that goes into it is totally worth it. Thank you for sharing, now I am all over youtube watching vids of her haha

  • People do get really uncomfortable when things are unusual. There is a fantastic group of hula hoopers who went on America's got talent and were practically booed off the stage because people really wanted to see people eating swords and spitting fire.. I guess I am just saying I wish they would have chosen the right show for them. Both the hoopers and the polers LOL

the exposure is awesome though! Especially a group getting on TV and saying that they didn't want to be excessively sexual (not that thats a bad thing, just wish it wasn't such a stigma and a little mroe case be case)

And another random side comment, I am traing to be a massage therapist and when I tell people that they act more weird about it than the other people I have told that I am picking up pole dancing. So clearly people are warming up to it!! 😀

From massage schoool this is what I learned about foam rollers which do what is called myofascial release for your system:

Fascia is a layer of connective tissute which covers all of your muscles. When this is tight the muscles themselves cannot move or stretch. Use the foam roller in addition to your stretches. this way your fascial envelope will be freely moving so that you can then lengthen your muscles. Often people spend lots of time stretching what they think are the muscles and don't understand why they aren't getting any further and this is because they spend so much time only stretching the fascia and the muscles will get mild stretch. I hope this is helpful! Lots of luck

I use to feel too exhausted to do this kind of crazy every day sort of excercise, but just recently I started forcing myself to do some sort of excercise before school and sometimes after and this has really really brought my energy level up. I thought I would be so exhausted after it that I wouldn't be able/want to do anything. But just the other day I got up did yoga took the dog on a walk, went to school (with an hour drive blech) came home ran with the dog after and did some light weight lifting and instead of being dead tired I cleaned the house afterwards.

And I am soooo not one of those people with endless peppy energy. I usually wish horrible things on those people LOL Just beacuse I am jealous. so I would say give it a shot for a week stepping up your workouts and see how your body responds. And if you can get up a little early to get a workout in in the morning especially some sort of cardio I bet you will feel great!

I love seeing everyones schedules, so inspiring! I am currently trying to change up my fitness to be a  bit more active but right now it looks like this:

    Monday: Modern Dance Class

Tuesday: Cardio of some type, weight lifting / pole

    Wednesday: HIIT yoga more weightlifting

Thursday: Cardio (this is kind of my easy day)

    Friday: Yoga and pole

    Saturday: Cardio and weight lifting

Sunday: Cardio and yoga/ lifting just my body weight (sometimes I get an extra pole day in here)

I really want to be doing a consistent pole 3 days a week but my current schooling schedule isn't lending itself to that haha

Congratulations!!!!! That is fantastic, I am glad you are pleased with yourself XD I am going to have to look into S factor, I have NO idea what that is. I haven't been poling that long but I will say it has been giving me more confidence lately and it is wonderful for me to have a reason to build strength in my arms which are starting to look nice and tone 😀

here is an article posted on hoopcity.ca that discussed bruising and the importance of not pushing on over it. She got a little excssively dramatic if you ask me, but the information is still valid.

January 21, 2011 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Spinny pole – do you just get used to it?

Let me preface by saying I have no experience on a spinning pole.

But! For hoop dance there is a technique called sustained spinning, where you utilize your basic hoop moves while continually spinning. At first I could not go more than 3 minutes with out wanting to hurl. I developed a few things that helped me.

First off, I have to say that with time you most likely should build up a tolerance to the spin.

What that other ladies have said are all great methods too! I have found that spinning at a constant speed allows my body to forget that it is spinning, I know that isn't entirely possible on the pole but maybe focusing on trying to keep the speed more constant at times may help?? not sure about that one.

Then spotting is good if you are REALLY good at it, but doing it for too long can hurt your neck. I would suggest as Charley said to choose looking at your pole or a body part and really allowing the world around you to get blurry. It is disorienting at first but it really helps if you can let the focus and stability go.

And then once your done finding something less than 2 ft away from your face to focus on will help you regain yourself more quickly.

These are just my hoop findings, but I pretty much compiled what everyone else said. MEh, hope it helps

I just stumbled upon the hitch pole randomly, and I had to come SV cause I knew someone else must have seen this by now!!!! I think it is very uh…. inventive. 😉 Love to know if anyone purchases it and how they feel about that. I would just be too scared of falling off of it.

I have only been signed up for 2 weeks but so far I really really like them! She has some great strength lessons that are really helpful. I wanted to pole dancing partially cause I thought it was beautiful and partially because I wanted a real goal to build strength and I find her lessons have really helped me do that!

The progression makes sense and you get all of the classes at once so you don't have to buy each individual class. Which is nice because then if you zoom through beginner you have intermediate right there with out feeling as though you were stolen from. 😀

    Hope this helps!

YAY YOU! I actually am a hooper first and am only just getting into pole! Hooping is the best, so relaxing and meditative yet mentally and physically demanding when you are learning. Hoop city is a great place to learn. I hope you have lots of fun with your new hoop!
