Today you’ll be practicing different climbs on spinning pole. I’ve listed the easier versions first in the playlist, so only do what reps you’re comfortable with for today.

Pro tip: Remember, this program isn’t about teaching you how to do tricks—you should already be able to do all of these climbs on static pole. Spinning pole isn’t the best option for learning new tricks, at least not if you’re using your spinning pole correctly with proper momentum. With that in mind, I want to point out it’s a different experience having your pole on spin mode and doing tricks on it without understanding or trying to generate momentum. I’m saying that learning a new trick while generating momentum is never a good idea. The purpose of this program is to learn how to not only keep the pole spinning, but have total control over the apparatus.

      1. Yes I’m really realising how much upper strength I’m going to have to develop before I move on to the intermediate lessons. My boyfriend kindly bought me a pull up bar ha ha..So I’ll add that into the mix from now on. Just wondering in regards to the single arm cheat or twisted ballerina entry- what are the best ways to condition for that? I get confused, which I’ll over come with practice but I seem to loose strength before I figure out the trick. Thanks!

        1. Ok for the ballerina, it’s not a beginner level trick but even as a beginner you can work towards it. My VIP plan for ballerina is a week long plan that targets/conditions all of the muscle groups and includes the skills you’ll need to know before working on this. Here’s the link https://www.studioveena.com/tutorial/week-7-ballerina-1149/

I know a lot of people who are beginners use ballerinas but I don’t feel it’s safe. They often end up with shoulder or back pain because their bodies aren’t ready. It’s most common for them to do ballerina on spinning pole because it feels “easy” but when/if your shoulders aren’t ready that when problems pop up.

  1. I think it made a huge difference in my spinning climbs to work on them in static. When I used to try spinning climbs I’d spin so fast I thought I’d slingshot myself in the wall, lol. Much better control now. I’m going to do this lesson over again wearing my sticky pants as my legs felt super slick and kept slipping down.
