Today is a rest day and I’m sharing a video I made back in 2011 celebrating that pole dance can be a wonderful expression of the feminine.

Pro tip: Use it or lose it, but if you lose it that’s ok! It’s extremely common to lose the ability to perform a trick or skill if you don’t train it regularly. This brings me to why I’m sharing this video, because it was a point in my career where I was at my most flexible. Currently, while I’m close, I cannot successfully do an Eagle (advanced ballerina) or as beautiful of a cocoon like in 2011. It’s ok and normal, I’m not a failure or falling behind—I have different priorities now and perhaps in the future I’ll re-train these skills. My point is, it’s ok to allow your pole journey to evolve. Remember, tricks are only one aspect of pole dance expression.
