Beginner Level 2: Day 13
Duration: 00:21:28
Today you’ll be training your core by practicing body waves and you’ll give the Dragonfruit dancing routine a try again. Are you starting to feel more comfortable with the routine? I’d love to hear how it’s going for you.

Actually the Hard Core Warmup was easier now. Used to be this easy like 3 years ago, so maybe it’s safe to say my core strength is where it used to be now!
That’s good! I find that when I take time off and come back the first 2 sessions I feel weak but then things come back quick!
Hi, I’ve tried the dragonfruit dancing routine with heels! Obviously in the slow motion :-)) and I like it!!
Awesome!
day 13 Γ’Εβ¦
I’m way more confident and feel really good preforming the dragon fruit routine now! I am sometimes too far way away from the pole when I do a leg hook tho and have to awkwardly shuffle closer lol but over it is much smoother! Was helpful to go over reverse body wave too, I find that move a little difficult to execute elegantly so i’ll keep chipping away at it.
over all* agh so many typos sorry!
ps I stuck with heels like you suggested and I barely notice theyre on anymore! took about a week of trying them here and there.
Thatβs great news all around! ππ
I really enjoy the dragonfruit routine and I am definitely getting better. I started working on improving my hand movements during the side knee hook and the front knee hook. I noticed I am having a challenge with the modified pole hold. I tend to land too close to the pole which then gives me a hard time making the turn from the floor. I tried moving back a step but I think it will take some practice to get it right. Any suggestions?
Nice! For the modified pole hold, youβre using the push grip. Hereβs some tips for that https://www.studioveena.com/tutorial/forearm-push-grip-pull-grip-free-838/
Also, itβs a bit of a hop. Youβre not just using your arms to hold you. Itβs kind of like you lightly use the grip but then hop into the pose at the bottom. Does that make sense?
I see what you mean about the little hop. Iβll take a look at the video you suggested too. Thank you.

Hi Veena! I just wanted to say thank you for making these programs. I always wanted to do pole for the tricks, and all flow and sexy dance stuff made me feel awkward. I almost made it to this lesson a few months ago, not putting much efford in the flow and dance routines because of this. Then life happend and I took a break, so a few weeks ago I restarted beginner 2, this time actually trying the dances. Today I tried the dragonfruit dancing routine in heels and on some of my own (metal π ) music. It wasn’t perfect, but I had fun! So thank you for helping me get out of my comfort zone <3
Thatβs terrific news! π
When I did this one a few days ago, in the Dragonfruit routine I realized I could just tuck my legs up without flailing around. That slow-building strength is everything.
Whoot!!! π
Day 13 complete π―
I actually did the dragon fruit routine I think I’ll write it down an video it soon π but I think I did it but with no music lol ππ xx
Oh an I’ve got my white bord coming to π€£π€£ππ
Yay and I love my white board!
I did the videos both sides lol ππ from memory ππππ
That’s impressive! It’s so hard for me to remember choreography, I think that’s why I like to freestyle.
Hahaha don’t know if you watched them sent them through connections xxx
