I agree with Ember, we all need to have a pole jam! I’m gonna check on aplace in Gilbert that has open poling on sat. nights, I think it’s $15 but I’ll have to call her and see if this is only if you’ve taken lessons from her studio. *Ember, It’s prob. a long shot, but do you think Kristy would let us use one of her rooms?

February 10, 2010 at 1:25 am in reply to: Pole dancing and ovarian cysts

I have had problems with cysts starting when I was 15 and had one break on me for the first time last year, it is incredably painful. I have twice been put on birth control to help control them. My last gyn doctor explained to me that it is normal to get cyst on your ovaries, but that for most girls they are not a problem. It’s natural for them to fill with fluid alittle before your period, then when you have your period they go back down. However for some of us the cysts don’t get the message that we are haveing our periods and they continue to fill causeing pain and sometimes bursting, the birth control pills confuse your body into thinking your pregnant so that the cysts don’t fill with fluid. He told me that it has to do with pregnancy, that the fluid production is to help norish a fertilized egg until the placenta is formed. If you have been getting pains becarful when you have sex. The first question the er doc asked me is what I had been doing before I started have the pain, and I had been haveing sex about 30 min. earlier, then like you I could bearly walk to the car to get to the hospital, she said that is usually the case. I would imagine that if you have one that has gotten very swollen you might could burst one while poling, but I wouldn’t think that It would be the cause of the swelling. I hope you feel better soon and I would just pay attention to your body, if the pains are really bad then maybe a different kind of birth control would work better for you. I still sometimes have pain around the begining of my period but it passes, I don’t even take the birth control anymore, If I’ve been hurting a little I just don’t get to wild in the bedroom LOL!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Hey Ember! I just commented on your page before I saw this. I’m signed up for your class and super excited! I’m self taught and don’t know anyone who poles so it’s going to be so nice to meet some girls that share my obsesive little hobby. Do you teach anywhere else beside your new gig at MiE?

I’m not sure exactly what qualifies as clean eats, I also have Tosca renos cook book and love to make soups in bulk. One that my kids like:

    Protien Power Soup

one package chicken Breast (3 breasts) cover w/ water and boil 20 min.
Remove chicken to cool, add to pot 2 or 3 cloves diced garlic one diced onion,
2 or 3 each slicced zuccini and summer squash, 2 cans seasoned crushed tomatoes,
    saltand pepper.
while this comes to a boil shred chicken and put back in pot w/ veggies. add about 2 cans chicken broth (fat free, low sodium) to cover all ingredients. let simmer for a while and right before you serve add a bag of baby spinach.

like I said I make a big pot on my day off so I can just heat up.

Also my kids love meat balls so I make them with turkey, egg whites and mashed sweet potatoes, instead of bread crumbs use oatmeal and season with soy sauce or bbq and salt and pepper. make in bulk and freeze them then you can take em out and heat them up in the microwave. pair them with brown rice and some veggies and your done.

I love this thread, can’t wait to try Lilbits pancakes!

Sissy’s right, if don’t increase your body will become acclimated and you will no long be giveing your mucsles a challenge. You should feel by your last couple of reps that you are giveing your all. but as imporant as what your doing in the gym is you have to remember to give the muscle you’ve worked a 48 hour rest period before you work it again, and always take in protien within 30 to 60 mins of your workout or you just won’t see the progress. Muscle is sexy!!! Good luck with your program!!!

Yummy… Strawberry Vodka. I’ve used it and it works great, (not strawberry, Bellevedere, only the best for my dance partener LOL) but it does kinda feel like a party foul to waste it LOL! with the windex I’ve found that it works better if it’s dilluted with water, it seems kind of waxy if not. I’ve heard the rubbing alchol is good but have’nt tried it yet.

I’ve been trying to work this out too, (got alittle off track w/ the kids home for summer vacation) I’m thinking this routine:

Mon. Bis,tris, abs at the gym then straight home for some poling.
Tues. Legs, glutes and alittle tredmill at gym.
Wens. Poling, abs and some deep streching.
Thurs. Back, shoulders, chest and tredmill at gym.
Fri. Hiking (weather permiting) or legs and glutes at gym.
Sat. Poling, abs and deep streching.
    Sun. rest

What do you girls with Personal Training back grounds think?

    Hi ladies https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
I’m signing up for classes at a studio with atleast one male instructor and one male student that I know of. I usually dance in my skivves and a sports bra or tank at home and I’m wondering where to get some shorts that are good for poling and just a little bit more modest, but not to long or loose in the leg area. I’ve got a couple weeks before I start I’m sooooooo excited!!!

Everything your doing sounds great. I’ve manadged to pick up some workout equitment on the cheap that really helps me. Look for dumbbells at places like yardsales and craigslist, vidoes are great to. I just picked up the P90X video series on craigslist for $65 they had never been used!!! Your library should have a selection of workout vids you can checkout. If you’ve plateaued you may not be taking in enough calories, it sounds like your working really hard and that is demanding on your body, Maybe start a food jornal to keep track. Try five to six small healthy meals a day, and make sure your getting some protein, complex carbs and some good fats with each meal. Drink lots of water and take some kind of multi vitamin everyday to help curb cravings. Also weight training is a great way to shape your body so that when those last pounds come off you have developed some awesome lines and curves. You can get lots of weight training exercises at oxygenmag.com for free. Just keep working at it, good habits can be hard to develop but once they become a part of your life you just won’t feel right till you’ve got your wokout in, then it becomes a no brainer. 10 pounds in a month is fantastic, you should be so proud!!!

I agree with Glitter, if you are doing it for you then great. There is nothing wrong with a little reconstructive surgery. I’ve had my breasts done also and have considered maybe going back for the tummy. I take really good care of myself, eat well (I even grow my own vegies) wieght lift, hike, run you name it, however I’m 32 (cough, cough) and I’ve had 3 kids. I think I look really good considering, but I have stretch marks on my hips, loose skin and stretch marks on my tummy and no amount of running is keeping my butt from trying to make friends with the back of my thighs! Find yourself a really good doctor that has done lots of these surgeries! This is not like getting your breasts done, it is major surgery! I recently went with a freind to her consult and the Doctor said that most women say it is worse then haveing a baby by cesaerian, also they usually put stitches in your ab muscle to create the look of tone, which can limit the amount of ab exercise you can do after. This was one of my concerns since I do workout quite a bit. I would make a list of all the questions and concerns, and find a Doctor who you are comfortable with and is known in your area for doing good work.

That would be great except I have not been able to figure out why my computer won’t open up chat https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I’m gonna have my Hubby/Computer guy look at it tonight for me. Thank you so much for offering, maybe I’ll get it fixed soon, I’ve really been wanting to get in on fri. chat. I have been streching though, when I pull my left arm acrooss my body and hold it with my right and then lean to my right side it seems to strech the area i’ve been haveing pain in. I think I really was just over working it. I lift weights a few times a week and also do archery about once a week (I hold my bow with my left arm, and I pull about 45lbs. with my right, it’s all back muscle). So that on top of daily poling was just to much! I’ve been working on balanceing my physical activity and makeing sure i’m getting enough rest for my different muscle groups, and that has been makeing a big difference for me.
