    Hey everyone!

So Ive been working out really hard lately (for a month now), and Ive successfully lost 10 pounds and 4 inches. My ultimate goal is 30 pounds, however I believe I have plateaued! During this time Ive been boxing, jogging(something Ive NEVER been able to do), doing lunges, squats, crunches, pushups and changed up my eating habits. Im unable to afford a gym membership so I gotta keep it at things I can do at work or around the house. Does anyone have any suggestions for homeworkouts? or how to get over my plateau? Id greatly appreciate any suggestions or help! Im so determined to get healthy, but I wanna make sure Im doing it the right way! So I gotta figure out how to change up my routine. I workout 5 days a week, with rest in between. I cant wait to get my pole so that can be added into my routine https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_viking.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_basketball.gif

Everything your doing sounds great. I’ve manadged to pick up some workout equitment on the cheap that really helps me. Look for dumbbells at places like yardsales and craigslist, vidoes are great to. I just picked up the P90X video series on craigslist for $65 they had never been used!!! Your library should have a selection of workout vids you can checkout. If you’ve plateaued you may not be taking in enough calories, it sounds like your working really hard and that is demanding on your body, Maybe start a food jornal to keep track. Try five to six small healthy meals a day, and make sure your getting some protein, complex carbs and some good fats with each meal. Drink lots of water and take some kind of multi vitamin everyday to help curb cravings. Also weight training is a great way to shape your body so that when those last pounds come off you have developed some awesome lines and curves. You can get lots of weight training exercises at oxygenmag.com for free. Just keep working at it, good habits can be hard to develop but once they become a part of your life you just won’t feel right till you’ve got your wokout in, then it becomes a no brainer. 10 pounds in a month is fantastic, you should be so proud!!!

Thats great youve lost 10 lbs! I lost about 30 lbs total over a period of 2 years and i had the same problem..ive been trying to lose 10 more for about a year now and it just wont budge https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif A lot of times you might need to shake up your eating pattern…your body might be used to the lower calories its getting so if you eat a little extra for a few days (just about 200-400 cals extra than normal, nothing crazy) that might help you shock your system into losing weight. There’s a theory that your body can figure out how much fuel you give it in terms of food. There’s another method called the zig-zag eating pattern where you eat the same amount of calories in total but you redistribute them differently…so say your weekly total is 8400 (1200 cals/day) one day you might eat 1200, the next day 1400, the next day 1000, etc etc so at the end of the week it all adds up to 8400. That method did work for me for a while. 1200 cals is the absolute minmum you should eat if youre dieting (which you probably know already https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif ) so you may need to adjust that to your specific caloric needs. You probably are eating more since you’re working out. But try that and it might help https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Your body is fighting back because it isn’t used to all the changes. It thinks that you are "starving" yourself and its natural defense is to slow down your metabolism. And so you start flat lining. If you just keep doing all the workouts and eating right your body will eventually "give up" and you’ll start losing weight again. Everyone is different of course but that is the general rule.

For an online diet/healthy lifestyle journal I recommend SparkPeople.com. You can track your nutrition and see down to the last mineral that you ate in a day. It can create a strength training regimen for you or you can just track your workouts. They incorporate a lot of "lifestyle" tips and goals and not just weight loss. The website tries to look at all aspects of a person’s life that contribute to healthy living. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I highly recommend checking out all the fab workout DVDs on NetFlix (if you have it). They have everything from Yoga to Karate to KT Coates Vertical Dance DVDs! And I would also recommend the library.
