I’m Brass
You are the Isadora Duncan of the pole world. When you perform, you take it to a whole other level. You are athletically gifted and could dance on Broadway, but what sets you apart is your vision. Your choreography, music, and costuming choices make your audiences line up at the door!

I’m sorry to hear all that. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif If there is anything I can do to help please let me know…and I mean that!! Have you thought about leaving ND? I know there is not a heck of a lot of opportunity there. You are a strong, beautiful, woman who has been though many tough times, this will only lead you to bigger and better things. Ever thought about moving to CA? LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Welcome!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif If your getting bruising from doing a basic invert your probably using a lot of momentum and force to get up there. That’s not good, you could injury yourself. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif It could also be hand placement, sometimes if your holding on to your pole way up high, that can happen. Your inside hand should be around ear level and outside hand should be just above that. You may want to hold off for a bit until you have more strength in your abs, upper back and biceps, these among other muscle assist you in inverting. Work on your transitions, spins, flexibility and do pole strength work, before working the inverts. Inverts are fun, but there is so much more to pole dance then that, you’ll get it!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Charley makes a good point about the layback I call it a advanced plank. Here are my methods.
Use lots of pillow or mats and do it as low to the ground as possible first. This is how I teach it in my lessons. You can work on getting the leg position from the ground so there is no fear of falling https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
1 Lie with your back on the floor
scoot yourself way up the pole so your butt is high and your up on your shoulders, you can work on pulling your body up from the both CAR/CKR positions.
So once your sure about leg placement and how it should feel move on to step two..2 Either from standing or by doing a SMALL pole climb, get into the proper leg position for either the CKR or CAR
Make sure for both, that your legs are locked into the position by tipping them towards your upper body first before attempting to layback.
Reach your free hand behind you as if to do a plank/layback then slowly walk or let your hand slide down the pole allowing your body to go into the full move. You can do this with both the CKR and CAR. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gifAnd yes….it will hurt. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

Have any of you ever ordered anything off of http://www.pinupshoes.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;? It seems like a legit site and they have a HUGE shoe selection, but I’m always hesitant to order anything off a site until I get a good reference.
I’ve never shopped there but..wow did you see their boot collection? Its great. Looks like a good place to me, I might have to get some new boots!!! -
I don’t think there are too many preggo here right now but, I can give you a few ideas. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif If you have a pole you can still use it, but just differently then the non preggos lol. Work on flexibility (BUT be careful not to over stretch, you have relaxing in your body to prepare for birth and this makes your ligaments loose) having pretty, soft hands and pointy toes (just be aware if you point your toes too hard you could get those nasty calf cramps), hip rolls are fun, dance around and have fun, work on posture and keeping movements flowing …use to pole to keep your balance so you don’t tip over. lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif Don’t work on spins and no more inverts.
If you don’t have a pole walk, swim… swimming is wonderful for you and can be a great way to cool down and take a load off. haha. Squats are great to prepare your body for birth, just be sure your doing them properly. Yoga is amazing too, it can really help you tap into your body and also prepare you for labor! Enjoy your new fab body https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Yes, the poles all ship out of CA if they’re out everyone is out…unless for some reason they bought a bunch of poles to sell on their own. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
