This is what I wrote on your vid…
Can you caterpillar yet? If you can it can be helpful to have a strong caterpillar…by performing a small caterpillar up first before moving into the butterfly this can help get your body farther away from the pole and allows you to get that lower arm (the one at the bottom of the pole) up a bit farther before going into the butterfly. So by getting your lower arm a bit farther up and your body a little farther away from the pole, it can help you square up the move. )[/color https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

This is a short demo I made a while ago, the key I have found to holding the CW in a straight edge position is not a true split grip but to have your hip (on the leg that is kicking) drive in towards that elbow of the top arm, so the top arm is not fully extended, but slightly bent. I find this gives me more control of the move and keeps it straight. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Are you talking about the Reverse Grab? This at 41 sec I think…https://www.studioveena.com/video/gallery/Long-dress-dance This is done on a static pole in this vid. The technique is different on spin mode. You should be able to do the Chair spin with one hand before trying this move. Its called the dislocator, in some places for a reason. I do have this spin in my online lessons too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

America is funny that way, we act all horrified by sexuality and the media thrives off of sex. Sex sells. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I’ll be watching when it comes on. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

here is an article about warm ups https://www.studioveena.com/info/2009/03/17/warm-up-and-cool-down/
When your new to pole dance you should only practice every other day. Pole is a full body work out and your muscles need time to recover and rebuild.
I would also say save the deep stretching for after your work out not before. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Yes! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif It is safe to stretch everyday. After your cardio work out is perfect, because you never want to stretch cold muscles. If you don’t have time for a work out and still want to stretch I like to take a hot bath or shower, this can work well to warm the muscles too. IF you find your feeling sore after only stretching you might want to back off a bit as far a how deep you go into the stretch….and it can help to inhale and then exhale down into the stretch https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

A lot factors into having good grip with the pole….The type of finish, size, your skin type, humidity, if the room is hot or cold and if your body has been properly warmed up. Also proper technique…of course. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif If your body isn’t warmed up and you have a cold pole, moves will be difficult. This article might help you figure out why your having trouble. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Hmmmm I wonder if you could use duct tape to make kind of a cuff to slip over the ball of your foot? You know like the sweat bands that one member (sorry I can’t remember who) wore on her feet. They make all kinds of cool colors now, I wrapped my hula hoop in shiny silver and purple duct tape. I wonder if that would work? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Don’t worry, there is no such thing as a body type that can’t pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif It will get better, with most things, it will get better. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif Recording yourself and making sure your watching your movements in a mirror is a great way to improve.
