I really think learning spins on static mode is best first. Is the teacher or person you watching video of or taking lessons from, using a static pole or spin?? If its static you’ll have to change the way your entering and exiting your spins. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

AdministratorSeptember 23, 2009 at 4:35 pm in reply to: Pole dancing shorts. Help. Need your opinion 😀I almost always wear my pole shorts really low cut…keeps the muffin top away and helps keep the extra skin from flopping over! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I want full coverage over the lady business!!! I don’t want to flash anyone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif If the crotch area is too tiny I find I avoid some movements that might expose myself. hehe. I don’t wanna have to get a wax job just to pole on a daily basis…..so more crotch please…um coverage that is. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I really don’t care if my butt shows or not… it seem like to get good crotch coverage you need a good amount of butt coverage too. I love the cut of the Hanes boy cut underwear for women…if someone could make a pole short like that I would love it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I actually cut apart an old pair of mine when I first started poling to make a pattern. I only had some terrible material to use and it worked, but they had no give to them because of the material, and I seemed to have lost the pattern when we moved out here to CA. Ok enough rambling, two things I look for…
1 crotch coverage
2 low cut/sits on hips…. or can I roll it down and make it low cut. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif -
You should always try every move on BOTH sides…this is no right or wrong side, its a matter of preference…but if pole is your only form of strength work, you should be try to learn on both sides. Your teacher might not be able to teach the other direction and so she didn’t want to get confused. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

I’m still very confused…someone told someone to run?? into a move https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Sound like you all have it figured out now….I’m still lost https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif maybe you had to be there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

First be sure that you only hand tighten the pole pieces….then, here is a trick I have been using….BEFORE I go to take down the pole..so before I loosen the dome, I loosen the pole pieces themselves…not all the way, but just enough so I know they will come apart once I get the pole down. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hey guys…it can also be really helpful if you think of bringing your knees in as you lift up into the shoulder mount. By going into a tuck position on the way up you have less leverage to deal with making the move easier. So kick one leg (gently if you need a lot of kick your not ready) up and as you bring your feet off the ground don’t think of moving right into a V… bend the legs and tuck…then open into the V or bring your legs to the pole. So its… kick-tuck-V. Once you master the tuck first method then you can work on V leg and straight legs into the SM. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

This is what I wrote on your vid…
Can you caterpillar yet? If you can it can be helpful to have a strong caterpillar…by performing a small caterpillar up first before moving into the butterfly this can help get your body farther away from the pole and allows you to get that lower arm (the one at the bottom of the pole) up a bit farther before going into the butterfly. So by getting your lower arm a bit farther up and your body a little farther away from the pole, it can help you square up the move. )[/color https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

This is a short demo I made a while ago, the key I have found to holding the CW in a straight edge position is not a true split grip but to have your hip (on the leg that is kicking) drive in towards that elbow of the top arm, so the top arm is not fully extended, but slightly bent. I find this gives me more control of the move and keeps it straight. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Are you talking about the Reverse Grab? This at 41 sec I think…https://www.studioveena.com/video/gallery/Long-dress-dance This is done on a static pole in this vid. The technique is different on spin mode. You should be able to do the Chair spin with one hand before trying this move. Its called the dislocator, in some places for a reason. I do have this spin in my online lessons too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

America is funny that way, we act all horrified by sexuality and the media thrives off of sex. Sex sells. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I’ll be watching when it comes on. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif
