It's normal to have a little soreness after the first flexibility sessions. But you shouldn't be sore for days after. If you are then you know you have either….stretched too far, or possibly, were not warm enough. I always find the warmer my muscles are the less soreness I experience. I dress in layers when I do my flexibility training. If you've been stretching for a week or more and continue to be sore after then you may be overdoing it.

Also, you could be a bit sore from doing the strength routine too, especially since you had been off the pole for a while. Light stretching can actually help lessen sore muscles from strength training. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I personally think a powder coated pole has the most grip of all. Even brass for me anyway.

How long have you been dancing and will you be doing a lot of static spins? I suggest Chrome for newer dancers and Titanium for the more experienced.

If your newer to pole and love static spins chrome is good. If you like spinning pole and would like a pole with a lot of grip go with Titanium gold.

Beginners can have a hard time with the titanium because it is so grippy, so static spins can be slower and more painful. Also with a grippy pole you don't have the ability to skooch around to find a good position, like on a Chrome finish. Chrome does have nice grip as well. One thing to  keep in mind, a warm pole and warm body always have the best grip. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I've used water, rubbing alcohol, Vodka, Windex, soap and nothing has changed the TG finish. I would say a persons body chemistry or using grip aids are the culprits. But yeah, the grip doesn't change anyway.

RubyTuesday, it's totally normal too feel like one side is more of a challenge.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif But as others have said, it is important to work both sides of the body, especially if pole is your main exercise! You may not be able to do EVERY move on both sides but it's always good to keep at it. And always try BOTH sides when leaning something new, sometimes the side that feels most natural may surprise you. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Hi, I have not had any trouble with sequins scratching, but I have had rhinestones leave little scratches. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif It would still be worth watching for scratches though.

Hello and welcome to the site!!  You may also like to try out Friday chat day to meet some new pole buddies. It's every Friday all day long and it's the day when the chat room has the most people in it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I love my X pole 45 Titanium. My TG has not faded, and I've had it for 3 yrs now. I'm told that if it does fade it doesn't affect the grip. However….. I had one section fade after having someone dance on my pole and they used Itac! I don't use any grip aids.

Depending on your starting position the Twisted grip variation could be considered a cartwheel or handspring. Some start with the head looking down swinging the leg in a cartwheel motion, others start with the head and chest up so it would feel more like a handspring.

Either way I do not suggest using the Twisted grip for mounts!!

I don't know why so many use the term handspring for all mounts. The direction is different for the Cartwheel and Handspring. Here is one video I have showing both. I might have another but not sure…
