Thank you for this!!! This is how I have been treating my bicep tendon issue after the exercises the physical therapist gave me caused more pain. I decide to try my own thing….eccentric and isometric movement… it has giving me fantastic results! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I think DRs might start to see more tennis elbow (lateral pain) and golfers elbow (medial pain) all in one injury…and we should call it pole dancers elbow, because it would affect both medial and lateral! LOL Ladies take care of you arms…stretch, warm up and don’t over train. Very cool article. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I’m confused https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif X pole will fit up to a 9ft ceiling. Check to make sure your using the proper extensions, I don’t think you would need to use both for a 8ft 6inch ceiling. You don’t need plywood, just try using the longest extension not both. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I always tell new dancers to dance every other day! Not every day, pole is a full body work out. Your muscles need time to repair themselves. I would take a day or two off for sure. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif You can still dance around or stretch, just back off the spins and tricks. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I Google imaged it and Yahoo imaged it and thats all I can find. Wikipole didnt have anything with that name. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif All these names drive me crazy sometimes https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
In my lessons I call it the falling Angel OR Cross ankle release. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I can tell you no the base in NOT as stable as the X stage base!!!! They even make sure to state on the R pole website that they are not trying to compete with X stage, they call it their Brit competitor or something like that. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thought I should post this in the thread here.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Nice links…..just make sure you understand some of the moves listed here are not for beginners! Don’t get upset if you can’t perform them https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif
One more thing…she forgot to mention engaging your shoulders, (the whole shoulders back and down) before you perform the split grips or brackets as she calls them. Protect your shoulders https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Having a good knee pit grip, requires strong hamstrings. The moves that Jenn suggested are good ones to work on. Side climbing is another good one to help you learn to grab with the knee pit. (but its really tough) The more angle you can create between your calf and hamstring, the better grip you will get with the pit. If that makes any sense. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I’d say do small spins until your belly gets in the way!! lol I only got 2 more weeks left!! Unfortunately it’s most likely going to be a c-section unless this little girl decides to turn which equals more recovery time and more wait time to get to the pole… booooooooooooooooooooooo You could try doing the cat and dog poses…I have heard it sometimes encourages the baby to turn in the right direction..and it feels great on the back. Don’t stress about it, your baby might just turn when its ready. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I posted this awhile back when polenagger had a question about it. Its not terribly explanatory but here you go. What ever you do stay off the knee cap….the pole goes below the knee cap, not on.

OMG that was an amazing story!!!! I instinctively cuddled all my babies to my chest….I hated when the hospital (with the first 2) made me give them up, to do all the new born tests https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I loooved my home births because they didn’t rush my babies away…they can do many of the new born tests as you cuddle! That is such a great story. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

No, no Don’t feel bad! Boys are bless with all that upper body strength that we have to work so hard to achieve. The have an advantage. Yes pole dance is HARD!! That is what can make it sooooo rewarding, the simplest move should be celebrated…I mean that. If it were easy, we all wouldn’t feel so damn cool when we finally nail a new move…or any move for that matter. Pole dancers defy gravity! Your not alone, keep at it. Try and do some strength training with your pole, this can help your dancing really improve. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

All right VEENA. I’m starting to come out slowly but surely. I’m Joni from mississauga, ontario. I have been pole dancing for 2 years. I’m 43 and just felt so much older than you all in your 20’s and 30’s, so I HAVE BEEN HIDING just watching all the great vids and great topics. BUT i am slowly creaping out of the woodwork. I have learned alot from you all and I THANK YOU ALL for that. Joni https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif
LOL Glad I coaxed you out of the age closet. BUT 43 isn’t old!! There are plenty of others here your age and up!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
