I have a lesson for the shoulder dismount and other shoulder mount variations here it is for ya if your taking them http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2745
Make sure your far enough on to your trap (way up by the neck) and also be sure to tuck as you release down into the SM position for the dismount. If your not tucked you’ll pass over the bone and it hurts! Good luck. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Welcome, and congrats! On a safety note…. you should NOT START learning pole dance when your pregnant, even more so if you new to exercising. Now if you have been poling for a good while then listen to your body and enjoy yourself. Here are some guidelines I use when I was pregnant with my 4th.
If your new to pole dance then backing off it a good idea. You can still do some floorwork and fun transitions and you can still have fun with it, just dance! Here is a good example of dancing with your pole without all the tricks.

Now if your not a beginner and your very comfy in your abilities, here are my guide lines, I used for my pregnancy.
With ANY exercise while preggers, be sure you don’t over heat, and don’t raise your heart level too high. Drink lots of water. Listen to your body.
1st Trimester…continue with moves you know but don’t work on new ones. Stick with what you have down and work on perfecting it.
2nd Trimester…No more inverts or climbs. Spins are fine if your joints don’t mind. if your a seasoned dancer it shouldn’t be a problem, but everyone is different.
3rd Trimester…This is a good time to work on dancing with soft hands, pointed toes (watch out for leg cramps tho) and hip rolls and enjoying your new sexy body. Most spins will be out..I was able to adjust mine, I found that by keeping my thighs pointing down, and not bringing them up to my waist for spins like the chair I could still do them and they were not a stain on my Abs. Here is an example of that…you can see I don’t do many spins at all and I keep my knees low.

With ANY exercise you have to talk with your DR first and make sure your fit to exercise while pregnant. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif LOL

Thank you everyone………She was my big sister and loved me more than I even knew. I go between packing for the trip back and crying, I just wish this was not how it had to end. illnesses both physical and mental are so frustrating when they slowly take the life of a loved one. I wish I could have changed things. I want to say more but don’t really have the mental capasity to right now. For those who haven’t seen, I did a video just a few hours before she passed away, for some reason it was very important to me to get this video filmed and posted as soon as I could, I had know idea she would go so quickly………..
I’m sharing it with you now because dance is the best way I can say what I need to………….

Thank you all for being there for me, when I’m here I feel as normal as one can feel during a time like this, so again thank you all for that. Hugs to my Pole Family, hold the fort down for me ok?

Caterpillar and butterfly could be classified as descriptive names….the caterpillar can turn into the butterfly, get it?? YOu look like a caterpillar inching up the pole…..makes sense and can be remembered my most students!! I try to avoid using terms like a persons name. I don’t think every single move that has been done by someone has to have a totally different name than the move it was derived from. Most of these are just variations off of other pole moves. So for example (and no I"m not saying this is what we should call it) but for example the Allegra could be called an Open Scorpio or something. It tells the student…hey, get into the Scorpio then open up the move…tah dah. I have never had a complaint about how my moves are labeled so I’m not seeing a problem……..

You can also view the list of pole moves for FREE here. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

I didn’t hear back from you for weeks! Then we cancel it immediately after your last email a few days ago.
As I said in the email I just sent……its been canceled……….

Aww thanks Jayjay ….we have have a surprise coming too that should help you all out with names and yes it will be free. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

No worries at all, I was letting everyone know, I was not addressing you specifically MilienElayne https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif we get a lot of traffic and readers on the forum ….not all have the advantage of trapeze or some other apparatus or an instructor for that matter, to help them know how to engage the muscles properly and I have met some dancers that just hold them self up with the shear force of pulling on that foot and not engaging the hamstrings at all.
-
haha Billy was the bomb https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif I think I’m closer along the lines of the "slap chop" dude. He annoys me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I"m a simple minded girl… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif I just call the last pic a double knee hook. And the first one Hmmm…a Knee hook variation or something along that line. One thing….Please be careful if your performing any of these moves by holding on to your foot…It puts a LOT of force on your knee, not good. You should wait until your strong enough to perform these moves without the help of your hand pulling on the foot. Use those Hamstrings. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif If you find you need a little help at first… hold on farther up on the shin closer to the knee, this will lessen the force on the knee joint a bit.

Hmmm I’m sorry I thought you had mentioned you had never tried to take it apart till recently. If you dislike the pole so much then sell it.
-
OKAY..I’ve had it!! I have not been able to get my pole apart since I 1st put it up(it’s been together now for over a year!…had to move with it in one piece…we are in the middle of remodeling…everything has been crammed into the bedrooms because the flooring will be installed this Thursday in the kitchen, dining, living room, entry, and hallway….I have no where to put the pole in one piece…hubby said I’ll have to put it outside on the patio…there’s only about 4 feet of snow out there!!!!! I have tried everything suggested to get it apart…I’m so ready to THROW IT AWAY!!! I’m open to any/ALL suggestions…the shocking hasn’t worked, the stanley screwdrivers haven’t worked…we were very care assembling it so it’s not over tightened….oh it’s an x-pole… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif
Uh Oh……there is a reason the instructions tell you to disassemble the pole often! I honestly don’t know if you’ll be able to get it apart if it has been together and not maintained for that long. I have heard of metal kinda of fusing together and my guess is because it was together for so long thats the problem https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif Have you tried getting two of your body builder friends together to disassemble it? When I took down my permanent pole I just put it along the wall, if you have a garage you could put it in there…since you don’t like the pole, I’m sure someone would buy it from you even if it doesn’t come apart! I know I would have as a beginner, because a pole is a pole!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I saw the pic…great job Foxy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

My lessons here on SV, are set up in that progressive manner. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I also include strength training and stretches that are important for pole. All lessons can be viewed as soon as you buy them… but they are set up in order according to level of difficulty. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
One thing to keep in mind…everyone learns at a different pace and a lot of moves depend on your flexibility as well as strength. Some advanced dancers can do handsprings and such, but don’t have the flexibility to perform say…a pole split with is not as physically demanding (strength wise).

The customize profile was left over from the first version of the site…..we have removed that function, not sure why its still there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
