To work on controlling your inverts try this lesson. http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5400" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; All of the various climbs in the lessons along with working on pole holds (try using different leg variations) they will increase your back strength. All of the shoulder strength lessons are Helpful as well because they focus on the scapula

Great Pictures!! Are there any videos up of the comp yet? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

First thing….to sit and climb…. both you and your pole HAVE to be nice and warm!! If your pole is cold and your body you will slide. You should never apply lotions right before dancing BUT…..for some with dry skin (like myself) you may need to moisturize a few hrs before you pole. Dry skin is also not grippy. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif
Yes the Pain is normal be sure that you are not only relying on skin contact to hold yourself up but also using your muscles. The crossed leg needs to squeeze across your pole. If you are taking the lessons I am able to meet you in the chat room if you have a webcam and I can take a look to see what your doing wrong. Or you can upload a vid.
Climbs are not beginner moves because they are "easy" but rather…because they build your strength!! Climbing isn’t suppose to be easy.
Any move can take a few tries to months of work….. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
But really be sure you and your pole are nice and warm before you try to pole sit or climb. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

Your moves are looking really nice and solid. Now you can do as others have suggested and start working on pointed feet and slight variations! Well done https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Glitter…I’ll be making a lesson for inverted body waves, but I don’t think it will be for awhile. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif For now this is what helped me…. I don’t only move my midsection, to make it look more dramatic roll the motion all the way though to the knees. This works for the upright body wave hold as well. Keep the legs together and start by pushing the hips back pull them forward and follow through down to the knee. Keep the knees soft and don’t bend them too much, just a little. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif Its so hard to explain on paper or should I say screen…..
