  • Back strengthening for invert

I’ve been trying to clean up my basics, and my basic invert is not nearly as controlled as I would like it to be. The part I have trouble with is the tipping backwards. I think upper back is the problem. I also notice that in handstands, my head takes too much weight until I’m fully into it and can pull my scapula toward my spine. Other than just continuing to practice the tuck inverts, any tips on strengthening this area?

    Thanks guys!!

I’m having trouble controlling my inverts as well and I haven’t been able to do an inverted V on my own. Very frustrating! I don’t know if its upper body, core, or back strength that I’m lacking, maybe a combination of the three.

Having the same problem, i want to do the aerial invert but not strong enough yet. Veena told me to do the strengh excercise like switch and plank and keep working on my tuck invert. Gonna work on it and see if it give result.

To work on controlling your inverts try this lesson. http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5400" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; All of the various climbs in the lessons along with working on pole holds (try using different leg variations) they will increase your back strength. All of the shoulder strength lessons are Helpful as well because they focus on the scapula
