I don’t use wrist support often but I bought some of the wrist wraps to try and didn’t care for them. For myself I was looking more for support of the wrist joint (the wraps go above the joint) so I prefer to use a good old ace bandage. I buy the kind that stick to its self. 🙂

Glad I could help Cazacat! Legs4Days, when I broke my foot I took the opportunity to focus on upper body training. By the time my foot was healed I was then able to hold and Iron x because of all the time I had put into only upper body. 🙂

Hi Passion Poler! As everyone mentioned it's totally normal for a move to come and go. Frustrating, but normal. 🙂

    Sorry about your hand!

You could buy some wrist weights (I know they’re not usually super heavy) but you could do lying chest flies, lateral, rear and forward shoulder raises, bent over rows, lying or overhead triceps.

This would be a great time to focus on core and improving your strength and lines of the Lowe body!

I read it, she's said to have had friends who've tried pole dance, but if her only visions of pole is grinding, then I would wonder where her friends went! I don't know of too many legitimate studios that teach you first to grind on a pole, bodywaves, yes, grinding, hmmm, not so much.

I will also add, and this might be a surprise, I'm tired of the word empowerment being connected to pole (I used it too). However, now I say….Be fit, Be sexy, Be Confident, forget the E word it's time for the B word! LOL That was sooo cheesy! But anyway, using the term "empowerment", still sounds like we're making excuses for enjoying pole dance or that somehow it will make women themselves more widely accepted!! Which is silly because we rule the world. lol Using the E word is as if we are trying to change peoples opinion of pole. In reality you can't change OTHER people, so it should only matter how Pole makes YOU feel! For me it's fit, sexy and confident!! Just BE! I'm much better at expressing myself through dance then words so I hope you get the idea. 🙂

You'll need to do strength work more than once a week if you want to see gains. If you take a look at the descriptions for each lesson you'll see how often I suggest doing them. Also be sure you're going in the order I have the lessons presented, always starting with the Getting Started Lesson. In addition to that, you'll want to work on the conditioning lessons as well.

Have you tried the 30 day take off program? I tell you exactly what to do for 30 days.

    Hmmm, I don't think it's undoing anything…….

I think many "stripclub" moves have their own difficulty level to them so downplaying those isn't really cool or accepting either. It's not easy to shake your booty!! LOL People have been aware of pole's in strip clubs for a looooong time and I don't think they've suddenly forgotten about those clubs because we have turned the use for a pole into other expressions, as well. So, when a dancer uses a pole in what some might perceive as sexual it doesn't "undo" anything. The strip club was there before and I bet it will still be there in the future.

I didn't start poling, teaching or even this website to "change" the publics opinion on what pole dancing is. I enjoy all styles of pole dance and there is room for all styles. I pole because I LOVE it.

I personally was not impress with the video, it was a little predicable and a honestly kinda boring. The pole dancers did a nice job though! I would love to see more acceptance of ALL styles in the pole world.

For everyone else here's the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehcVomMexkY

If it’s pain take a break. If it’s just sore then this foam roller exercise should help. Make sure you cross your arms to really reach the middle of the back. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4efc8e72-b3a0-49fa-bea0-3d490ac37250

October 3, 2013 at 4:10 pm in reply to: Please help me structure my workout?

The scale can be so deceiving, I don't suggested judging by only that. If your clothes still fit then it's probably not a problem.

Sounds like you have a great plan so far! The body likes variety so changing things up is key. Try 1 or 2 weeks of conditioning muscle groups used during the session, followed by stretches for those muscles. Then change it up after week 2, by conditioning before freestyling, or by conditioning muscles not used in the session.

With the flexibility training,(heavy stretching) again changing things up is good. You could do splits, and back 2-3 times a week. Then the following week switch to splits and back on different days. Remember you can gently stretch after any workout. 🙂

As long as you are not working or heavily stretching the same muscle groups 2 days in a row you'll be fine. Keep a blog or write down your training sessions so you can look back. This will help you decide what your next week will look like and you can change it up! 🙂
