The "steamer cleaner" is not a real product! However, I really do use a clothes steamer to deep clean all of my dance poles every few weeks. Its the FASTEST way I've found to clean the manufacturing junk off of a NEW pole as well! So stop slipping and start steaming. :D

At the end of this one I put an outtake where Henry tries to fix my slipping issue by cleaning the pole. LOL
luvleeI love this!!! I HAD a Toby steam iron. I liked it a lot but it got clogged because we never cleaned it really. LOL! SO, I am looking into a new one that I will take care of. WHat kind do you have and how long have you had it? Do you have to use bottled water in it? We did with the Toby.

VeenaMine is from target its a conair I've had it for about 3 or 4 yrs I think. Bought it to steam the backdrops for lessons! This one I've just been using tap water.

luvleeI may try that!!! The Toby crapped out in a year. There was this whole cleaning thing with vinegar it needed done to it all the time. And it wiuld get build up even witht the bottled water. It was weird.

poledanceromanceOmg holy adorableness incarnate in a takeout box!! Also if your youngest could please stop growing up at warp speed that would be great. O_O

poledanceromanceAlso conair makes good steamers, I have a hand held one of theirs that uses tap water that I've had for YEARS and it works great, takes out even heavy wrinkles even though it's small. I've never used it on my pole but you bet your buttons I will now! Now I see this I think my pole probably has like three years of micro-gunk on it. Ick.

VeenaI'm bumping this because whether has gotten cool or COLD for a lot of us and this can help. It works well for new poles too.

Cantetinza17This is so cute. Especially the out takes. I guess I'll invest in a steamer. I'm starting from scratch and I am on Day 3of the 30 day and I couldn't do the pole hold cause I couldn't even get a grip. With mighty grip I could do the pole strength excercise, but the actual pole hold where you slide down was a no go.

StrangeFox Paid MemberOooh... I know this is a few years old, but this is the first time I'm seeing this! What a cute vid and a great idea! My brass pole has gotten incredibly slippery all of a sudden so it might be due for a good cleaning. I wanted an alternative to Brass-o, which smells awful and leaves a residue. I thought I was crazy but looks like you've also noticed that new x-poles have slippery junk on them.
Aug 9, 2018
VeenaThank you! Steaming the brass won't take off the discoloration that happens on the brass, only brasso does. However, I find after using brasso my pole is super slick so I follow up with steaming and that helps!

I switched to StudioVeena lessons when I could no longer work with my local studio's schedule. Veena does an amazing job teaching. Not only are the quality of these online lessons unbeatable they are also extremely cost effective. A definite must have!
