Thank you all so much for the suggestions!! I will keep those in mind! I think I'm going to order the Danskins, and go with the layering suggestion… I also thought of getting 2 sets of more inexpensive shorts, and sewing them together right sides together & leaving a hole to turn them right side out on the inside seam (I used to run a fabric store so I know my way around a sewing machine, thank goodness!). I'll see how these pair turn out first…

We're all very supportive of each other… We were working out yesterday and while learning a new move, one of the new instructors was struggling to learn it and actually asked me to come  help her. She was really grateful and I was more than happy to assist.

I think where I'll be most nervous is calling the workout, and trying to transition from move to move smoothly.  I've never done that before, so I'm a little nervous that I can do that effectively.

If there are any youtube vids out there that might be helpful, I'd love to see them! I've worked out with Jessalyn before and her warm ups were AWESOME, but its been so long I can't remember all her stuff and can't find any online…

I don’t think its USPDF that printed it though, right? So maybe if you contacted them and let them know about it, and ask for a refund… that’s terrible!! I saw them at the competition, and the one I looked at didn’t seem to have all those mis-prints, but maybe I wasn’t looking carefully either. To pay $40 for a calendar, you should definitely get your monies worth and it doesn’t sound like you did…

I got my titanium gold Xpole xpertover the summer and I LOVE it!! The grip is so much better, but I guess I should mention I also got the 45mm as well. It is a HUGE difference from the stainless…

Here’s my experience… (you can see my pictures on my profile I’m pretty sure). I work for a school system and I had them at one time posted on my FB page in a PRIVATE album. Only certain people were allowed to see that album (not all my friends could see the album, only select friends). Anyway, SOMEhow… a principal got wind of my pictures and at a faculty meeting brought them up! Yeah… they were discussing social networking sites and how you need to be careful about what you post. She used my pictures as an example of what NOT to post (didn’t show them, just described them in detail), saying "a teacher had posted a picture of herself wearing BOOTY shorts and a BRA upside down on a STRIPPER POLE!!! Can you believe that?!?" and of course the whole room was agasp with shock and awe… It just really pisses me off the negative connotation that she spun on what we do. I mean sure… in this day and age, I’d probably make a hell of a lot more money than I do teaching if I wanted to dance professionally, but I’m in this for SPORT and FITNESS.

I can’t tell you how much pole dancing has done for me as far as confidence goes… my body has changed so much for the better. But if I had a dime for every time someone tried to judge me for how I do it, I’d be a rich be-atch!

People that judge you are just jealous and that’s all there is to it. They just wish they could be 1/2 as hot as you, period! Unless you are wearing a cloak, sitting on a bench and banging a gavel… your ass shouldn’t be judging ANYone.

Girl, I can SOOOOO relate to this! And I agree with what someone else said already, "if you looked like crap, no one would care" On the contrary, you look smokin’ hot, and you should be proud!! Work it girl! The issue is theirs, not yours. Your response should be "Don’t hate, APPRECIATE!"

All such great advice… that’s why I love you girls so much!

My other problem is, my pole at home is WICKED slick. Not like the poles in the studio… I feel like I can do ANYthing in the studio, then I come home and try just simple spins and wind up hitting the floor with a THUD because the pole is too slick. I was thinking about getting a pair of workout gloves just to help with grip for that reason (I don’t have a spinner). Mighty Grip helps, but I have to keep putting it on, and on, and on….
