the x-joints aren't listed on the website, you have to call them to order. HTH!

i think i may know the problem…:)

i had no idea CAR stood for cross ankle release. i thought it was something else! i rarely do the CKR, I should practice it.

love the hoops too. i'm also a hooper…amazing how many hoopers also pole and vice versa!

Quote:it took at least 6 months to get over the pain.
this is encouraging–LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
wish i'd started learning this a long time ago and i'd have it down by now. ho hum.

chem–i don't push and turn, i just push and lift it from the mount. granted, i'm not experienced enough with the x, I just got it, but i can easily do the mynx myself and am kinda scared of the x. lol.
-
i have both and my vote is for the lil mynx as far as ease goes…
-
yes, you'll definitely want to call. i called and checked, and they say in the pole extension printout to call them for ceilings over 11'. Good luck!
-
I have a 10" extension and used a 180 x-joint on it–even though it says not to in the manual, the diagram that i printed off their website says to use a 180 with it.
However…my ceilings are 10', so I can't help WRT the 12' ceilings…..sorry. I hope you can get it sorted soon.

I feel like we provide a public service for all the freaks out there.
ha!
As a writer, I learned a long time ago that my art is only personal until it's finished. Then it becomes a product. What people do with that product after I release it is their business and I have no control over it. I feel the same way about dance (and any other art form, really).
ditto. very very good points.

LopsiJulie–Hooping, or hoopdance is wonderful (and my other obsession).

Thank you both, this is so helpful!

i've been poleing for a few years now and, being sorta self-taught from the internet and videos, only recently subscribed to the lessons here and HIGHLY recommend them. They're in order of what to learn, and truly you need to master the beginning moves and build strength from those.
Pole is an aerial art and as such, is risky. Injuries aren't worth the perceived glory, and even though it's tempting to want to do it all now, it's also a journey. If you're not feeling ready for something, that's ok. Why rush it? Again, if you get injured doing a move you're not physically ready for, you're REALLY set back.
So, just a few quick thoughts, I'm sure others here will have great advice!

ooh, yeah, i like those scissor legs! takes so much control, and you know if you're not controlled enough due to the CLUNK of shoes on the floor, eh?!
-
and it looks so dang cool. love, love love it. impressive and sexy move.
-
AHHH-yes!! thank you–immensely helpful. can't wait to work on this more. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

reenie–each string is approx 60" long.

I don't know, but I'm intrigued by body strings: http://www.expressthesensual.com/2009/10/30/treasure-hunt-for-bodystrings/
They seem like a fun way to accessorize and a way to hold shoes without straps on (but obviously they aren't clear…)
PS–I was at the AA workshop too! 🙂
