U know when you do your wrist sit and you cross your leg to go backwards then put your hand under your bum? Try doing that (cross knee release) leaning back as if going for a wrist seat but don’t put your hand under your bum and lean back – that’s how our instructor did it last night. Then you can go on to a cross ankle release which is the same but your legs are crossed at the ankle https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah I think 2 lessons a week is the best way to get good practise in! We have got 2 this week and then the week after next we are going to one of the practise sessions after our lesson on Weds.
It will be so much better when I have my pole and I can practise at home! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Are both your lessons private? Our class has just got full! Weve had 3 more girls join from another group so now we have 10 girls in our class! I think I’m really going to enjoy having only 4 of us there tomorrow! And I hope we learn something new!

I have the slippy problem too – I was really slippy last night on some spins and I just end up in a heap on the floor lol. I always have loads of tissue and the chalk near me! Luckily I was quite sticky when climbing and inverting! I do have a massive pole burn on the inside of my thigh today though – it’s a good kind of pain! Lol.
Do you always have 2 lessons a week? I am really looking forwards to our private lesson tomorrow – 2 lessons a week is so much fun! Can’t wait to learn something new and practise sitting! Hehe.

Yeah it’s great! I know it only seems something so simple (like my OH was all "oh well done, is that all you did though – SIT on the pole?!" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif Men eh!) but it really had been doing my head in that I couldn’t do it!

Just thought I’d update on the dreaded pole sit situation……I DID IT!! AND I did a thigh hold!!
I took pics of both too – I did them about 4 times, I am soooo pleased (even today I have a silly smile on my face haha). When I get home I will try and add my pics on here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I even managed to lean back from the thigh hold and I didn’t fall off! Lol.

Welcome to the site! It’s a very good idea to work on your strength and flexibility before you start to pole but it’s also something you learn as you go along. I have been pole dancing since June and I think some strengths can only come from practise on the pole!
