I’m based in Kent and would definately be up for a UK pole jam. I don’t mind having to travel a bit & love the idea of a beach pole session but I think it’ll come down to cost of travel for a lot of people. Once we know where everyone is based we can see if it’s feasible. My pole school are planning poleing in the park in the summer as we just got some R-Poles I love the idea of being able to pole outside.
Hope to meet up with some of you girls once the jam is organised.

Nearly forgot no sand or water required just the base and the pole.

Hi my work internet wouldn’t let me follow the link but I wondered if you were talking about the new R-pole or a similar thing. The R-pole is a 38mm pole which is really easy to move about, is free standing and it’s base doubles as a mat. Follow the link. http://www.r-polefitness.com/
I tried it out at Miss Pole Dance UK and it was great they had 2 demo poles. The studio I’m at has ordered some for their new venue and our instructor had one on loan for a while before she ordered and loved it. Her boyfriend managed swinging like an idiot on it without tipping it over too. They are expensive but for what it is I think it’s probably worth it I would get one if I didn’t already have a pole.
Hope we’re trying to talk about the same thing and that my comments help.

Hello,
It’s good to see more girls from the UK joining studioveena. I’m a Kentish girl and have been poling a year and a half now and still loving it. Hope you find some more things to keep you motivated and help you advance here.

Welcome you’ll find some good tips here. Cxxx

Yes that was Tracey. The girl that won was super strong but some of Tracey’s moves impressed me more. I decided to aim enter doubles next year if I can pull off the training I want. I won’t get past heats but it’ll be nice to work towards something.

You are not alone to start with I would over think things and fail miserably but once I was a bit more confident I just started to do spins etc without stopping to think too hard and it was much better. Everyone learns at a different pace so try not to compare yourself to other girls they probably find it hard too.
Getting comfy with the pole is the most basic bit once you stop being scared by it I’m sure you’ll be fine. Try to find time for the bits you can do and perfect them. Hopefully knowing you can do some spins well will help your confidence.
Pole dancing does take a fair bit of strength even for the basics but this will come to you with time and practice and ask you instructor to check your technique too if your worried about that she will more than happy to help.
Hope that’s helpful

Hi, I went to this and had a fab time my favourite was Tracey I thought she should have won. The doubles were great too. What did you think?

Everyone always asks this. Check out http://www.wikipole.org It aims to give all the alternative names for moves. If you see a move on there but know it by a different name you can add it on. They are trying to do it for spins now. As you said schools do make up their own names so there are so many names out there.

I’m afraid I have no words of wisdom I have tried spinny a few times and I find it really hard I think static is the way for me. The only thing I learnt was if you are pulled close in to the pole you go fast but leaning out from the pole you slow down. I get too dizzy to try anything more.

Definitely try it from the floor I was scared with a chair but doing it from the floor meant I could shift around with a hand on the ground for support and that was when I found the balance to do it no handed. Def put a video up as that will help people work put if your technique is out at all but with me it was confidence and keeping low at the start really helped.
Good luck Cxxx

Hey I do a hooping class each week at the gym with a weighted hoop it’s great fun and does work those abs. Mainly we do a dance routines and aerobics type routines and try to keep the hoop up but we learn a few tricks too. I always finish the class red in the face so I know I’ve worked hard.

I tried the handstand dismount you described and it was easy why did I never think to move my pole off the pelvic bone it’s so simple. Last time I tried before your explanation involved a lot of pain! Thanks Cxxx

I loved your letter too. Thanks for standing up for the pole dancing community as a whole. Your letter brings home the type of people we are for those ignorant people out there who can only stereotype us as strippers. Well done! Cxxx

Hi Cbella, Hope you enjoy this site and I’m sure you’ll love your xpole. We got one in our studio this week and I had my first go on spin it’s scary stuff. Happy Poling. Cxxx

There was another post about this a little while back. But anyway you wanted to know if anyone had managed to learn to do the splits from scratch. I would be one of those people but I’m sure there are others. I wasn’t a dedicated stretcher but in 6 months I got it. I can only do it if I’m holding onto a pole though which is a bit weird but most likely a comfort thing, I think it’s knowing I can easily pull myself back up if it starts to hurt that lets me relax down into the splits rather than chickening out.

Climbing and pole sits are nasty to start with but you’ll get there. Cxxx

Hi, Goodluck with the poling I’m sure you will be an addict in no time and hope to see some videos from you soon. I’ve lost a fair bit of weight since I started poling and have really toned up so I’m sure you’ll manage that weight loss you’re after.

Thanks I’ll get onto wikipole and YTand have a look. Cxxx

You’ve sparked my interest but I can’t helpI’m afraid. I would love to hear the replies you get though. I’ve got the aysha but have never attempted a reverse one and it sounds like something worth a try but don’t think I’ve seen it done while I’ve been at the stage I could try it. You said you saw some videos can you remember what they are or who did them? I know you said there were comments about correcting bottom arm but it might be a place to start.
