for me being a dancer my whole life, I choreograph. I can freestyle when needed but I feel 10x more confident if I choreograph. It helps me avoid the ‘wth do I do now?’ stare. Sissy had a good idea of writting everything on the mirror so you can see what you want your moves to be and how to get in and out of them.

I choregraph mostly by sections. it makes me think better and if I screw up a section, I can go back to the previous and pick up where I left off. I also have those wow moments that I need to put in at particular times.

Well I do think that I am depriving myself. I mean I am so focused on what I can’t eat that I don’t know what I can. I have to admit when groceries are low and so is money I’ll go to burger king or mcdonalds to grab something to eat. I want to eat right so that I can have more energy, but shopping for healthy food is expensive. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

I know how you feel. Thats why when I see something thats on sale, I try to stock up. for a family of 4 we spend about $100/week in groceries. I noticed I got more healthier stuff at the Super Walmart than anywhere. I also look at the labels – sodium is not a good friend of mine. But most frozen meals are made w/sodium since it is a preservitive. I stock up on lots of fruits and veggies, luckily my kids love veggies so there are no complaints from them.

I work out 4 days a week, 2x pole, 2x gym. At the gym I split up what im working on. One day is arms, chest, abs, cardio; the next day is legs, glutes, abs, cardio. I always work on my rotator cuffs and my wrists as well. I like to change up what im doing so my body cant get used to it.

As for the diet dept, I started clean eating. Ive seen a very slow weight loss but overall I feel better. I was reading the clean eating book and Tosca brought up a good point – weight loss is 80% diet, 10% exercise and 10% mental.

When I get to convention I am gonna talk to Zoraya. I look at her abs and think "shes got 2 kids, ive got 2 kids – why dont I look like that’.

I’m Rena AKA rms3f — I’ll be arriving Friday evening and staying through Sunday afternoon — more than likely leaving after I finish Felix’s workshop! I’m so excited to see you guys!! I don’t have a good current picture to help people recognize me, but I figure it’s going to be near impossible to remember everyone’s names, so please don’t get offended if I ask you your name 203948 times https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Maybe I should bring name tags for everyone to wear… LoL But I promise, I’ve been working on learning names!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif So excited! I think tonight I am going to clean, pole, and then start packing!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif 6 Days!!!!

i think ive got some ‘hello my name is’ tags at home. I should soo bring them and we can put them on our packets!!!

Add me to that list. I think its mostly due to the pale skin. I know no one else can see it (I shave once a week, I HATE doing it). I recently started tanning and hoping that will help.

Chem do you have anymore info on the sugaring? Im totally interested!

Yep thats the Deftones for Change (House of flies). I like the other version of Counting Bodies like Sheep, its called Pet. Its on the 13th step album. I also like The Outsider, Lulluby and The Nurse Who Loved Me on that album. I just discovered a song I want to use for my Polarity Drama Competition entry – My First Song by Jay Z.

You are totally not alone. My husband is ok that I do it but he hates how its taken over my life (save that issue for a blog). I say its my only hobby and really have nothing else going on in my life. Hes stopped questioning why I need my own pole. Does your studio rent poles to students? If they do rent one and show him what youve been working on. That may change his mind.

you will get them if they are your own videos. I think you may have to go back and check the ones you commented on. As for blogs – youd have to go back and check to see if some commented or replied to your comment.

its even harder when dont have your own pole yet. Im also a f/t working mom. My schedule is m-f 6a-3p. I have a 5yo and a 15mos old. I typically go to class tues/thurs at 730 that way my husband is home and one of the kids are already in bed. Once summer comes I can pole more b/c my oldest wont be in school.

I say get out a weekly plan sheet. Have it set up by hours and block out your time. Then post it where everyone in the house can see so there is no questioning it. One of the many things ive learned from Mary Kay.

Jenna have you tried them on? Are you happy with the fit?
You know I’m constantly on the prowl for good pole clothes to sell.

I keep forgeting to tell you. Danskin has sport panites – perfect for pole. I have 2 pairs, no ride up, fits well in the thigh.

Im bumping this again. My husband basically told me ‘do whatever’ when I asked again (code for im going to give you the biggest guilt trip for going for at least 6wks.), so I could be a roomie if someone needs one.

I also have the thigh high boot problem. Im short with wide calves and legs. Torrid is a good place to get them, thier shoes are focused on bigger widths. I also had a suggestion of getting more laces so you could open them up more. Tie the new laces where the end of the first laces are you have more room. I had thought about that when looking at boots. Im now again looking for boots for a video I want to do.

I went to the Chiro before I started poling. I had noticed my knees and hips hurt alot, eventhough I was a hardcore gym addict. Once he started poping/realigning me, I started to feel much better. I slept better, all my knee/hip problems were gone. And I ‘grew’ almost an inch. He had me doing small exercises to my spine to work the little muscles as well. So I do believe in it, and my thought process is that they are the ones who went to medical school and trained in this field so Ill trust thier opinion.

My whole body pops only if I do it, rotating ankles, neck etc. Its a bubble of fluid that pops is what it is.

Have you told him that poling is helping but when he works on it, it reverses the process?

Mini – I’m having issues with the point – my toes get all cramped up and spasm – where one toe flicks off the world and the others roll into your feet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I have very flat "Flinstone Feet", as my husband calls them . . . Yabba Dabba Do! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Mine get crammed in there as well. If you buy some lambs wool that will help w/’padding’ (Im using padding very lightly here). What about a dance sneaker? You can still point your toes in those, they are flexible. I used to have a pair of ballet slippers from many years ago from when I took dance in HS. Id try those as well. Go to your local dance shop and see what they might recomend. You never know, there may have been a poler there looking for the same thing you are.

    Much love everyone!
    xx

totally up your cardio. I know that has helped me a ton. Im still tired when im done poling but not wiped out or drained. Me and the ellpitcal at the gym hang out, except I tell it whose boss! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

my hard part is picking out the music. Im torn between ‘One Day Ill Fly Away’ by Nicole Kidman from Moulin Rouge and ‘The Outsider’ by A Perfect Circle. I know I have musically warped mind! I was working out yesterday to a mix of APC and 3OH!3! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Pole shorts: Again Walmart. Danskin has some that a few of the girls like (and they are right next to the sports bras). OP also has some cute teeny shorts out right now and they are like $5.

    Can’t help on the lessons.

Yep, just bought 2 pairs of pole ‘shorts’ (we all know its sports underwear!)by danskin, I think i paid about 5/each. I would also suggest Soffe Shorts, they are the shorts the cheerleaders wear, if dancing in your panties makes you feel uncomfortable.

Back to shoes, I have a pair of pointe shoes. Ive used them in a video once. I did a few things on pointe. If you dont have any ballet background I’d advise against it. Its a hell of alot of work to do demi/grande piles en pointe. Whenever your sitting at home point your toes, eventually your body will get used to it. My toes just naturally point now since ive been dancing my whole life.

Mon – Gym = upper body, cardio, abs, stretch
    Tues – Pole Level 4/5
    Wed – rest
    Thurs – Pole?
    Fri – rest
Sat – Gym = Lower bodys, cardio, abs stretch
Sun – Since my oldest has hockey in the morning, the gym is on hold. But Id end up going to the gym again and focusing on what I want.

While im at the gym I always work my rotator cuffs and wrist.
