thankyou georgiamarie ok now this is going to sound like a stupid question but how do you pull your belly button in, for some reason when ever i do something that should do it, it doesn’t seem like it’s getting pulled in at the right spot?
-
btw Veena: no i think if i had managed to develop abs like that i would have been just plain horified and ran before even checking here, because that’s just to scarry.
georgiamarie, do the side excercises help, i’ve actualy laid off of them as of late because they seemed to be making things worse?
Nothing will ruin your waistline quicker than a baby, and do you plan to forego mother-hood to keep your figure?
Some of it comes down to genetics. I have broad shoulders (size 10//12 jackets) and narrow hips (size 2 jeans). I’ve never had an hour-glass figure, and never will. Should I hate the way I look?
Rather than focus on this one detail of your body, focus instead on your well-toned muscles, and love the other 95% of your body for what it is able to do. You can visually change the proportion by building shoulders as described. Or you can can cut back on the moves you think are "ruining" your waist-line, eg, more spinning & dancing than lifting moves.
Learn to accept your genetics and make the most of what you have!
I don’t want kids anyway so that’s not a problem to me.but no of course my opinions how i think i look and how i don’t like how i don’t look anymore shouldn’t affect how you think you look, heck i don’t even judge how other people look based on how i like to look. if someone looks good they look good, and honestly i’ve come accross very few females i don’t find attractive in one way or another. however i have a natural inclination to be hourglass shaped that is my genetics, this is the first time in my life that i don’t have that shape, 20 lbs lighter hourglass, 80 lbs heavier hourglass, pole dancing aparently not hourglass. that is the only thing that i’ve ever had to be proud of and i had to fight for that, the first day i woke up with hips my dad told me i was fat, the first 15 min of that day i was so proud, i felt good and that was the last day i ever felt pretty, so I’ve had a real love hate relationship with my curves but my waist has been the only thing i’ve ever felt good about.
i know ya’ll are trying to help and i apreciate every bit of it, but accept it, get over it, love yourself, if these things worked i wouldn’t need the advice in the first place, my fiance is always insisting i’m fine the way i am, but i don’t think so, and i would like to think my oppinion matters for something right? but I apoligise for all the drama I’m making this, and if i could just ignore this one thing i would, but that "name one thing" thread this is the one thing i had, i may not like the layer of pudge over it, i may not like how wrinkly it gets when i’m upside down, i may not like a lot of things about it, but i love how it makes me feel girly even when i’m wearing my boyfriends clothes, how it makes me feel protected when he wraps his arms around it, how it would obediantly corset down faster than normal, in a good fitting corset 8" with no complaint. I’m not sure if i’m just that strange/weak because i can’t let this go and it seems like ya’ll are a lot stronger than me emotionaly to just be able to accept losing things that make you proud. if i’m getting the wrong impression i’m sorry.

I want to thank you all for trying to help but i think i’ve been explaining it wrong, i realised the confusion in how i word it in veena’s post, the problem is that the curve of my waist is straightning out instead of the hourglass that i’ve always had, I’m becoming a rectangle, not out forward.
yes amcut we do have very different muscle appreciation scale because while i agree it is amazing on other people that is not something i want for myself.
i would rather give this up than have to live each day hating how i look, I do want to progress further, and if someone can give me a way to redefine my waist i’m willing to give it time. -
ooooooooooooo I likely!aren’t they adorable, i’m still pondering if the plaid not matching any of my other plaid is a problem, i mean could always get a new plaid skirts just to match if it looks bad right?

awesome i actually messaged HoP on facebook about the prices for those and a couple other pairs.
-
Thank you, I’d been reading that they peel off pretty quick, but if glue will fix that, hopefully these will save my shoes.
-
thanks all I’ve managed to get it better on a hit and miss sort of basis, but it really feels like i have to arch my back way out to be any sort of stable, is it supposed to feel that way?
-
Oh I would be first in line to get one, but my main things would be underwire but sturdy I don’t love the whole squshing thing so I found one thats half way right but the underwires are on the outside so the compression it does offer pushes the underwires away from my chest so it kinda defeats the purpose but also atractive that’s big, but i think if you get the bra design down I think you should incorporate it into things like rompers and things that resemble monokinis, because a lot of these things thay have those triangle tops and they look really cute but my boobs aren’t exactly where they belong so they never look good.

Anyway, I’ve been thinking. What are all the ways to get into Aysha?
Straight edge (but how do I get into that first?)
Caterpillar (elbow and forearm, is split grip possible?)
Butterfly (split grip, are elbow and forearm possible?)
Scorpio (split grip)
Reverse Aysha (TG, is split grip possible?)
CAR (TG, is it possible with SG?)
Handspring (SG and TG, I think there might be a forearm version of this)Can I get into them from anything else?
so it took about 15 minutes but i think i figured this out TG is twisted grip right? but anyway I do split grip catipilar all the time so it is possible, I can do it with an elbow grip but it is none to pleased about beeing forced into doing my hands job, and I have no clue how the forearm grip is sopposed to really hold you up because it just drops me. but anyway how would you go from CAR to aysha or from the scorpio, has anyone seen a video for these because I really can’t visualise them? and what does the reverse look like?
and I got my first completely horrible aysha the other day it looks disastrous but it is mine so I love it.

Here’s a section from vertical dance on poling and pregnancy, and i think there are a couple of threads for it in health and fitness.
Are You A Student and Pregnant?
If you are new to pole, a student in a class situation or learning from home think about what you are doing carefully and I would recommend stopping
certainly by 20 weeks if not far sooner. For the first trimester you Should be ( that is if your health provider say its ok and you have no pregnant
complications) fine continue maintaining your moves, You should defiantly NOT try out new inverted moves and you should be carful as you will be
feeling many symptoms of pregnancy that make you feel unwell, dizzy and even uncoordinated, while it will generally take a massive trauma too
loose your baby, the first trimester is the time where miscarriage is most likely, so I would advise you take up another form of fitness if you can.During the second trimester you may start feeling better, how ever your body is beginning to change shape, which means your centre of gravity is
changing, which can make you off balance. Huge changes are taking place, the effects of a hormone called relaxin are coming into effect. Your ligaments
and tendons (amongst other soft tissue) have become soft and loose in preparation for the widening of the pelvis for the birth of your baby. This makes
your joints unstable and you could permanently damage your joints by either lifting too much weight( your body) or over stretching them (hanging
from the pole or over reaching). Laying on your back for a period of longer than 2 minutes can effect blood flow to the baby, so supine floor work
should not be performed. If you haven’t given up by now you should as there are lots of different forms of exercise you can take up that will mean
you are less likely to fall. The third trimester you will start to feel tired again, your carrying a huge weight of baby and boobies and you may be feeling anxious about the birth,
the last thing you should be thinking about is your pole, its only a few more months and you will be back on it so don’t worry!!! Doing weight training with
the arms over the head Is really not advised has it effects your blood flow and pole dancing is weight training with either one or both arms above your
head, also you have that big bump in the way, its precious and you don’t want to bang it. Your strength will have almost totally left you and you wont be
able to lift yourself into a chair safely let alone a butterfly! Your abdominal muscles are either stretched to the limits or have opened down the centre,
you can not contract them very well as they are stretched so you will find it very difficult to lift your legs to go into an invert. You probably wont be
sleeping well as the baby is kicking a lot, your tummy is stretched so much that you think the baby may burst out and this is no shape to pole dancing
in. If you are then I really think you now have to stop!http://www.verticaldance.com/poledancingandpregnancy.htm has the entire article. I have no idea about the validity of alla this cause I don’t have kids but K T Coates is very knowlegable about a lot of pole related things so it seems to be good.

thankyou miss georigia that is exactly what i was looking for along with a few other things.
-
have you been doing a lot of split grip stuff with your bottom hand upside down, if so that might be the problem. when your smaller muscles aren’t strong enough the bone will start to take you weight even if you don’t lock your elbow, it’s kinda like shin splints but in your arm. i don’t know if this is the case with you, but I had it and my mom sugested weighted range of motion excersize in my wrists, and it’s mostly gone.

i was wondering if yall had seen denim shortshorts/booty shorts like either
http://www.odgirl.com/item–Denim-Sparkle-Shorts–9-133-05.html
or
http://www.odgirl.com/item–High-Waisted-Booty-Shorts–9-136-05.html
I’m in love with these but the shipping is so expensive for just a pair of shorts it’s unreal -
that idea actualy came to me, but i was wondering about what sizes i should make like the average partition sizes because i know if my shoes aren’t kept nicely then the heels scrape each other up, my shiny ones have divits in it from each other but i think i have an idea for how it would work without measurements, but thank you so much for the list. more questions for people who like thigh high boots, or even knee high, are yall willing to fold them or would you prefer to have something that would accomodate full length?
