on yeah, I also have the alphabet memorized backwards and can recite it faster that way!

I can shake my eyeballs, my husband thinks its creepy and tells me to stop. LOL
Also, I can turn my feet in to point towards each other and then Continue until they point slightly backwards as well. Completely Useless, Since when dancing a turn OUT is generally desired.
I can also do the controlled eardrums thing. -

Absolutely! I am a huge believer that not every trick is for every body. ESPECIALLY, when you're talking about twisted grips. Twisted grip requires a huge amount of shoulder strength and flexibility, and even when done properly still puts a lot of strain on some really small muscles.
If you can iron X though, I'd say you're one bad-ass poler anyway so I wouldn't spend too much time or energy dreaming of moves that are not meant to be. 🙂

I’m so glad you got it Runemist! It’s a great move.
@Saschapoles it is core, hip flexor, and quad strength along with hamstring flexibility that will get and then hold your legs up. You can always do a tucked teddy if you find this dificult. 🙂 -

I was doing really well for awhile but I've been off the wagon for about a month. I'm on holidays this week though, so I'll try to get my stretch on a couple times and see how I'm doing. I was getting pretty close, I think I just started getting busy. Oh well, back at it. 🙂

Oh Glitter! I have no advice to offer you, just sympathy. I've been married for over 6 years now and some days I'm still unsure… As Chem said, you guys NEED to talk about this, and sooner rather than later. Trust me, it doesn't get any easier the longer you leave it.
*HUGS* and good luck babe.

Thanks

I usually show a spin or something easy that I know I can pull off without warming up Then ask them, if they want to try something. Guys love to show of their upper body strength. I’ve had guys who can shoulder mount like it’s nothing on day 1 of ever seeing a pole.

Are you planning on coming to Canada? Toronto and area has a bunch of great studios and Studio 409 in Montreal is a place I want to visit over in Quebec.
I'm sure you'll have a fantastic trip wherever you end up!

MemberNovember 2, 2012 at 11:57 am in reply to: X-Pole Presents: Michigan Dance & Air Festival 3/22-24 2013Oh PA you have to come! I would love to meet with you in person after the fun we've had skyping. I swear I am going to this, even if I have to drive down from the Toronto area alone!
Although I really don't want to drive all that way alone…hint, hint…any other Ontarians going?

As people have said, this is pretty much a one-handed spin. Your bottom hand should have next to no weight on it, use it only to guide your body away from the pole so you don't bump into it. 🙂
-
You should maybe try changing up your routine. Try Veena's stretching lessons or buy a DVD. 🙂 If you think there is actually something anatomically wrong that is preventing your body from splitting, check with your doctor.

I've always wanted to go to Vegas! Veena just adds another reason. lol

I'm like you. I love both pole and yoga and don't have time for both. I compromise, for a warm-up before pole work I often do Sun Salutations. I use a lot of yoga influence in my stretching routine as well. I try to get the most benefit from both schools of thought for my current goals. 🙂
